SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BEACH TRIP: THE WORLD OF OUTLAWS STARS INVADED VENTURA RACEWAY ON SATURDAY NIGHT FOR THE TOYOTA RACING BATTLE ON THE BEACH PRESENTED BY ARP AND PUT ON ONE OF THE COOLEST RACES OF THE SEASON

VENTURA, CALIFORNIA (September 26, 2026) – After a slow start and rebounding with a tenth place finish in the Nashville West Showdown at Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway on Friday night, Carson Macedo and the team continued to travel down Interstate 5 again as they headed to the beach. Destination Ventura County Fairgrounds. The purpose of the trip was not to play in the waves or to dip their toes in the sand, but rather to compete at Ventura Raceway in the Toyota Racing Battle on the Beach presented by ARP. Oh, but hearing those crashing waves from Pierpont Bay onto the sand of Surfers Point Beach was just so relaxing and refreshing. And the scenery was not too bad either. “Oh, look at that beautiful <an audibly loud smack across the face> . . . seagull eating a French Fry on the beach!” Better just stay focused on the job at hand. We are here for the race and only the race. There were 25 race teams and haulers parked onsite throughout the pit area with the drivers ready to keep everyone’s attention while they entertained at the Toyota Racing Battle on the Beach presented by ARP. It was finally time to highlight sprint car speed close the California beaches at Ventura Raceway – World of Outlaws style!

The fans in Southern California would finally get to see some of the best sprint car drivers in the world for the first time out on the track in Race//Ready Hot Laps. There was a nice blend of local stars combined with the band of brothers that travel together across the country as the Platinum drivers with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series. After three trips around this place the teams made minor adjustments before Honest Abe Roofing Qualifying. The time trial order was set. It was established based on a random draw when they passed through the pit gates. Carson pulled the “33” pill and was set to be the 12th driver out on the track in his Albaugh – Your Alternative/BR Motorsports/Saldana Racing Products #41 Maxim. After Kaleb Montgomery #3 completed his two laps, Carson sat up in his Fibreworks Composites seat with a Sharp Advantage Racing Products custom fitted insert prepared to drop the hammer. The California speed chauffeur was up to speed quickly and tracking towards the waving green flag. He was on the clock. After powering his way around this 1/5-mile high banked clay oval for the first time in 11.328 seconds, he was looking for more the next time around. He appeared to be setting a land speed record to the eye, but what would the stopwatch think? Well, it was good, but not a land speed record as it came in at 11.361 seconds. The fastest of Carson’s two attempts ended the night 11th quick overall behind Corey Day in his Sander Engineering #14 who earned the Simpson Quick Time Award with a sub-eleven second lap of 10.958 seconds to establish a New Track Record (NTR). There were 18 drivers who broke the previous speed mark of 11.540 seconds.

Each driver’s best lap time in Honest Abe Roofing Qualifying was used to assign them to one of the three 10-lap qualifying races. After being eleventh in the final time trial results, Carson lined the Bandy & Associates/KSE Racing Products/Wilwood Racing #41 Maxim up on the outside of row two in The Greatest Store on Dirt Heat Race #2. He pulled his black and green machine up beside Steven Snyder Jr. #51 as they paced behind Bill Balog #17B and Dominic Gorden #10 on the front row. Sitting pretty in row three were Sheldon Haudenschild #18 and Conner Morrell #28M with Dominic Scelzi #21 and Gauge Garcia #5K peering ahead and pondering their race strategies from row four.

Things were about to get exciting at Ventura Raceway which opened back in 1985. No bullsh*t. No lollygagging. Just all out untethered courage and speed being unleashed in a small space. When the front row starters reached turn four these 410 cubic inch monsters were released to play at Ventura Raceway. Bill Balog assumed the race lead in the Save Mart/Anderson’s Pure Maple Syrup #17B as they approached the first set of turns. Everyone was holding their breath, but they all made it through simply fine. What did you expect? Now with one completed lap in the books, it was Balog showing the way ahead of Snyder Jr., Gorden, and Haudenschild with Macedo running in fifth place.

The track was still quite narrow, so the bottom line was the fastest way around Ventura Raceway if the drivers could make it work. Carson continued to search for speed from his fifth running position as Steven Snyder Jr. kept applying the pressure on the race leader. With two laps to go, the driver of the Three Stooges Racing #51 made the low line stick as he rolled by Balog into the top spot hugging the bottom berm through the last set of turns.

Steven Snyder Jr. led the remaining distance to take the second qualifying race win over Bill Balog as they both advanced onto the Toyota Dash. Sheldon Haudenschild moved past Dominic Gorden to finish in the show position with Carson completing the top five in the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41. Dominic Scelzi finished sixth with Gauge Garcia and Conner Morrell completing the finishing order.

All 25 cars made the show as they began to stage for the 40-lap Toyota Racing Battle on the Beach presented by ARP feature. This night at Ventura has been such a cool adventure for the series and competitors. It was a first, and hopefully not the last, visit here for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series. It was a tremendous success! The risk certainly was worth the reward as county officials had to graciously step in and halt all additional tickets sales and pit passes throughout the night as the place was completely sold out! And it was about to get even better as the engines began to come to life.

After racing to victory in the Toyota Dash, Steven Snyder Jr. #51 sat on the pole with Emerson Axsom #27 just to his outside on the front row. Corey Day #14 and Bill Balog #17B tucked into row two with Garet Williamson #23 and Buddy Kofoid #83 looking at their rear nerf bars from row three. Nestled into row four together was Chris Windom #7s and Sheldon Haudenschild #18 with Max Mittry #24 and Spencer Bayston #17 rumbling in row five.

Pumped and ready to roll in the Albaugh – Your Alternative/Xtreme Body & Paint/Pro Powder Coating (PPC) #41 Maxim from his 14th starting position with his brother Cole Macedo in the TwoC Racing/Level Utilities #2c to his inside. An all-Macedo Brothers row seven . . . how freakin’ cool is that to start the race. Carson secured his Crow Enterprizes safety belts. He always enjoys competing. He really likes racing sprint cars. But he loves doing both in his home state of California. And racing winged sprit cars at Ventura Raceway was just icing on the cake.

It was about to go down in Ventura as the drivers raced back into their starting spots after the four-side salute to these incredible fans that filled the grandstands at Ventura Raceway. The cars were nose-to-tail stretching almost halfway around the track. The green flag was out but quickly replaced by the yellow flag before the race really commenced. They would try again with Steven Snyder Jr. racing off immediately seizing the race lead over Axsom and Balog.

Carson and Cole each gained a spot during the initial stages of the race, running twelfth and thirteenth respectively. Only lap three Carson moved by Cole to take over the twelfth position as Emerson Axsom wrestled the lead away from Snyder Jr. by a hair at the line. The two talented young guns swapped position one with Steven Snyder Jr. ultimately claiming it back with five laps down in the race.

On lap 10, the red flag waved over the field for Dominic Gorden whose car was standing straight up on its tail tank in turn one after he flipped following contact with Gauge Garcia at the end of the front straightaway. Steven Snyder Jr. was still out in front of the pack ahead of Axsom, Day, Balog, and Kofoid with 30 laps of fun remaining.

Carson restarted from the outside of row six beside David Gravel #2 and when the green lights lit back up he raced into 11th place right behind Spencer Bayston and Chris Windom who were wheeling together. The driver of the Three Stooges Racing #51 had a fast racecar and continued to show the way around Ventura Speedway with Axsom and Day in tow.

The battle for positions from the front of the pack to the back of the pack created visual entertainment for everyone in the grandstands. On lap 12, Carson moved into the top ten as he meticulously maneuvered by Chris Windom for that position. The Lemoore, California native was balancing patience with pursuit as he began to close in on Spencer Bayston’s NOS Energy Drink #17.

On lap 14, the caution flag was out slowing the action as there was a multi-car melee over in turns three and four involving Skylar Gee #16c, D.J. Netto #88N, Kaleb Montgomery #3, Bryce Lucius #6, and Braden Chiaramonte #73.

With 26 laps to go, Steven Snyder Jr, fired off again as the field got back up to 410 sprint car speed at this little bullring of entertainment. Corey Day moved by Emerson Axsom into the runner-up position and before too long was bothering the race leader for the top spot. Still in the tenth spot, Carson had his elbows up and right in the mix to continue advancing forward. Dominic Scelzi though was relentlessly working the bottom lane in the Tarlton and Son #21 and slipped past the driver of the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 relegating him back to 11th place temporarily.

Carson fought back and retook the better position from Scelzi. A little further up front, Corey Day was all over the race leader and on lap 22 he claimed the race lead ahead of Snyder Jr. and Bill Balog with Emerson Axsom and Garet Williamson not far behind. Carson was closing in on ninth place running Chris Windom and made the pass for that position with 15 laps to go.

Macedo’s sights were now set on eighth running Spencer Bayston. It took him eleven laps to make the move for position stick, but on lap 36 Carson assumed 8th place with seventh running Steven Snyder Jr. within his grasp as the yellow came out for Snyder Jr. whose car appeared to shut off and restart.

Corey Day was out in front of the field with less than a mile of racing remaining at Ventura Raceway. The green flag waved again with the driver of the Jason Meyers Racing #14 showing the way ahead of Bill Balog and Sheldon Haudenschild who had entered the mix up front. Corey Day would not be contested the rest of the way as he collected the victory at the inaugural Toyota Racing Battle on the Beach presented by ARP followed across the finish line by Sheldon Haudenschild, Bill Balog, and Emerson Axsom with Buddy Kofoid rounding out the top five. Garet Williamson finished in sixth place with Carson Macedo rolling home in seventh place to earn the KSE Hard Charger honors for the second consecutive night after passing seven cars throughout the A-Main. Spencer Bayston was the eighth driver to cross the stripe as David Gravel and Chris Windom completed the top ten. Another good run for Macedo and the forty-one!

California has been an absolute blast. Thank you race fans! The heat of the engines still emitting and warming up the air surrounding the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41, Philip Dietz and the JJR crew began loading up and preparing for their long drive all the way across the country to Pennsylvania. They were chasing speed from the West Coast to the East Coast. Next stop was Williams Grove Speedway for the prestigious two-day 64th Annual J&S Classics National Open on Friday (10/2) and Saturday (10/3).
