RACING UNDER THE BRIDGE: SPRINTING AROUND THE PAPER-CLIP SHAPED OVAL AT WILLIAMS GROVE ON FRIDAY NIGHT TO OPEN THE C&D RIGGING SUMMER NATIONALS NETS A 14TH PLACE FINISH FOR THE JJR #41 TEAM

MECHANICSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA (July 31, 2026) – After departing New York and traveling down to Pennsylvania, the team secured a mid-week fourth place run in the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 during the 4th Annual Bricker’s Bash at BAPS Motor Speedway on Wednesday night. After a long month of racing throughout July, the team enjoyed a day off between competitive race dates on the schedule with Carson grilling chicken kabobs for the team. But they were excited to get back on track at Williams Grove Speedway for the two-day C&D Rigging Summer Nationals on the last day of the seventh month of the year. This historic half mile oval is big, fast, technical, and challenging for even the best racers and teams to master. And the minute they think they have figured it out, things change, and they once again are searching for the new right answer. The fans arrived early with many crossing the famous pedestrian bridge over the backstretch to peruse the gear at the merchandise trailers parked throughout the grassy infield area of the speedway. Each fan looked to buy their favorite driver’s gear before the races started. There were 43 race teams lining the inside and outside pit areas at Williams Grove Speedway on an idyllic day for the opening night of the C&D Rigging Summer Nationals. The weather was beautiful, and it was time for the traveling speedsters of the national touring series to take on the local PA Posse – World of Outlaws (WoO) NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series style – at “The Grove” on Friday night.

The drivers again tested their setup and speed early in Race//Ready Hot Laps to see what they had before the official race agenda kicked off. Each team randomly drew a number which would determine the order the cars would head out onto the racing surface for their two time trials laps in Honest Abe Roofing Qualifying. Carson pulled the ‘133’ pill which positioned him 19th in the time trial order for Flight A. After Brent Marks #19, Steve Buckwalter #17BX, and Samuel Miller #45s completed their timed sessions, it was the Lemoore, California driver’s turn to race against the clock behind the wheel of the Tarlton and Son/Durst Inc./Smith TI #41 Maxim. He flipped the shield down on his Empire Machinery/Real-Geese Decoy/Clenin Farm Supply custom painted Bell Helmet as the push truck tapped his rear bumper. Carson would be joined out on the track by Justin Whittall in the Rod Gross Motorsports (RGM) #67G. They both quickly got up to speed in route to the flagman who gave them the official signal to get moving. Carson was now on the clock. The numbers moved by so fast, especially the ones on the far right, but when they stopped to record his first lap, the numbers read 17.660 seconds. It was a good lap, but Carson wanted a little better lap the next time around. The drivers only get two shots to make speed, so they are “all-out” both times around the track. They may run two different lines each lap or choose similar lines looking to carry their speed through the second lap. Every choice matters. When Carson exited turn four this time he saw the black and white checkered cloth waving high overhead to end his session. Lap two came in at 17.671 seconds, with the first lap ending qualifying as the ninth quickest lap overall in Flight A. Sitting at the top of the speed charts in Flight A was Daryn Pittman in the famous #69K who made his way around the paper-clip layout in 17.258 seconds. That lap also earned him a Simpson Quick Time Award. Logan Rumsey #71 was the quickest driver out of Flight B circling Williams Grove Speedway in 17.429 seconds.

The speed test results from time trials were later utilized to assign each driver to one of the eight lap Heat races where the top five finishers earned transfer spots into the A-Main. The drivers in Flight A would populate the starting grid in the first two qualifying races with the drivers in Flight B racing against each other in the last two Heat races. When scanning the starting lineups, Carson’s Winters Performance Products/Factory Kahne Shocks/Boltz Family #41 Maxim would commence the multi-car event based on his qualifying results from the inside of row three in NOS Energy Drink Heat Race #1. He shared the third row with Preston Lattomus #91 as they trailed behind front row starters Daryn Pittman #69K and Brent Marks #19 with Cole Macedo #2C and Dylan Norris #17N in row two. Danny Dietrich #48 and Troy Wagaman #27W were rolling alongside each other in row four with Lance Dewease #8 and Chris Windom #7s side-by-side in row five. Set to start alone in row six was Steve Buckwalter.

It was time to get going as the yellow lights turned off with the field of cars making their way slowly around Williams Grove hallowed grounds one last time. When Daryn Pittman peeked out of turn four he saw the green flag waving and powered up the famous Kreitz #69K to take the early race lead ahead of Brent Marks and Cole Macedo. Carson battled from the sixth position in the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 as Danny Dietrich raced underneath him on the initial start.

Throughout the remainder of the race Carson pursued Dietrich and Norris who were just ahead of him. The three cars were all near each other, but when the eight laps were exhausted Daryn Pittman picked up the win over Brent Marks and Cole Macedo with Dylan Norris and Danny Dietrich completing the top five. Carson missed the final transfer spot by one position finishing sixth with Dewease, Windom, Wagaman Jr., and Lattomus rounding out the top ten.

Relegated to the Micro-Lite Last Chance Showdown (LCS),Carson would have to race his way into the feature throughout the twelve lap race. He would start from the pole position with Ryan Newton #66 to his outside. Behind them in row two was Justin Whittall #67G and Bill Balog #17B. The green flag flew over the field with Carson seized the lead early in the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 with Newton and Whittall chomping at the bit right behind him. Whittall eventually made his way into the runner-up position and was working the bottom hard. He closed in on the race leader and on the last lap Carson entered turn one high and got up over the cushion in turn two creating an opening for Whittall to scoot by to take the lead down the back straightaway. Whittall raced under the checkers first followed by Carson with Bill Balog and Lance Dewease collecting third and fourth place to transfer into the A-Main feature.

The eight minute horn sounded throughout the pit area as the 24 teams that earned spots in the A-Main completed their work. Three additional teams elected to use provisional starting spots to tag the rear of the field bringing the car count total to twenty-seven. The cars began to stage out on the Willliams Grove Speedway surface for the 25-lap C&D Rigging Summer Nationals opening night A-Main feature. The drivers buckled their safety harness as ratcheted themselves securely into their high speed rockets. The fans made the most of their experience at the track so far and now were chomping at the bit to see who would take home the $12,000 winner’s check on this Friday evening at “The Grove.”

Buddy Kofoid in the Roth Motorsports/Toyota #83 won the Toyota Dash and paced from the pole position with Daryn Pittman #69K to his outside on the front row. Following them in row two were Logan Rumsey #71 and David Gravel #2 in row two as Brent Marks #19 and Logan Schuchart #1s settled into row three. Row four had the talented young duo of Brent Shearer #12 and Garet Williamson #23.

Set and ready to get to work from his high speed office located under the Vortex Racing Products top wing on the Albaugh – Your Alternative/High Performance Lubricants/Sander Engineering #41 Maxim, Carson finalized his early success strategy for this stop on the schedule. He had a lot of work to do as he was starting back on the outside of row eleven from the 22nd starting position after finishing second in the LCS.

The field went four-wide to show their appreciation to all the fans in the stands and to everyone tuning in on DIRTVision. Some of the best drivers in the world were prepared to entertain these passionate race fans in Pennsylvania World of Outlaws style at Williams Grove Speedway.

The green flag waved to start the race the next time by the grandstands with Buddy Kofoid dashing into first place down the long front straightaway trying to create enough speed to stay ahead of Daryn Pittman and David Gravel through the first set of turns. He was successful in leading the opening lap. Scored in the 19th position after the first lap, Carson picked up three spots and was in a tight duel with Donny Schatz for the 18th spot.

By lap 3, Carson made his way by Schatz as well as Danny Dietrich and Cameron Smith. He moved into the 16th position with Emerson Axsom now the next target ahead of him. The Californian was working overtime with a sense of urgency with Danny Dietrich picking up steam pushing the pace. Dietrich eventually moved by Macedo as the two carried speed and closed in on the cars in front of them.

Buddy Kofoid has his Toyota Racing engine humming out in front of the pack with no one applying any pressure as he was on rails weaving in and out of lap traffic. Daryn Pittman was in second and David Gravel pounding the surface in third. Danny Dietrich and Carson Macedo raced by Axsom and began to close in on Brent Shearer, Skylar Gee, and Dylan Norris with 11 laps to go.

They both picked off Shearer over the next three laps with Dietrich also moving by Skylar Gee into 13th place. Carson ran fifteenth until the next circuit when he also moved by Gee into 14th place. Danny Dietrich had a fast racecar and drove the Gary Kauffman Racing (GKR) #48 by Dylan Norris into 12th place. Carson was closing but ran out of laps positioning him in 14th place in the final run down. Not the night the JJR #41 team was looking for when they arrived, but they moved up eight spots (22nd to 14th) to earn the KSE Hard Charger Award for their efforts throughout the night.

Buddy Kofoid led the non-stop feature to collect his tenth WoO win of the season with Daryn Pittman and David Gravel completing the podium as Logan Schuchart and Brent Marks rounded out the top five. Anthony Macri raced home in sixth place with Logan Rumsey, Chase Dietz, Sheldon Haudenschild, and Garet Williamson crossing the finish line in the top ten.
