PHILIP DIETZ FROM JJR IS HONORED AS THE 2016 WORLD OF OUTLAWS CRAFTSMAN SPRINT CAR SERIES CREW CHIEF OF THE YEAR AT THE WoO ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET
CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA (October 30, 2016) – The best in the business of sprint car racing gathered at the Great Wolf Lodge to celebrate another successful year of racing and to honor those that travel up and down the road entertaining fans coast-to-coast – the drivers, the crew chiefs, the hard-working crews, the owners and the sponsorship partners – throughout the year. One of those awards was designated for a very special person, not only to us at Jason Johnson Racing (JJR), but to the entire sprint car racing community.
I am certain you just won’t find a more humble or hard working person in the pit area. There are a lot of terrific people in this sport and he is one of those people that fit into that group.
He is unbelievably talented, conscientious and cerebral.
He if focused and unwavering in his commitment to doing things the right way every day.
He is a tireless and fierce competitor.
He is kind and deeply loyal and carries himself with the utmost level of integrity.
He is as genuine and authentic as they make them these days. In many ways, he embodies the same qualities of those crew chiefs that have preceded him that have worked tirelessly to make the sport of sprint car racing great behind the scenes under the dim lights illuminating the pit areas.
He is Philip Dietz – the 2016 Crew Chief of the Year for the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.
There were a variety of awards presented at the banquet. Some were expected, while others brought the room to laughter. One of those moments was when Paul Sides was surprised, but very excited, to accept his 305th in points award for his lone ride out at Perris Auto Speedway on April 16th. He received the award from Carlton Reimers on the stage and took the opportunity to soak every ounce of fun out of the celebration taking selfies and videos with his phone along the way. It was fun.
But when the crew chief of the year award was announced everyone in the room applauded out of deep respect for Philip Dietz. His tireless work and commitment was recognized as being the best with the premier sprint car organization in the world – the World of Outlaws. A well-deserved honor for an important and wonderful member of our team and family!
Congratulations Philip Dietz on your 2016 Crew Chief of the Year for the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series! Well deserved. Everyone at JJR is very proud of you.
