PACING IN PLYMOUTH: OPENING THE BADGER STATE TRIPLE THIS WEEKEND IN THE GREAT STATE OF WISCONSIN, CARSON MACEDO WHEELS THE SCOTT BOYD FAMILY #41 MAXIM TO A TOP FIVE FINISH AGAINST A STACKED FIELD

PLYMOUTH, WISCONSIN (June 6, 2025) – After kicking off a busy four race week in Minnesota on Wednesday night at the Jackson Motorplex in the FENDT Showdown, where Carson came home with the team’s fourth win of the season, there were three consecutive races in Wisconsin slated to begin on Friday night and conclude on Sunday night. Philip Dietz, Robby McQuinn, and Adam Zimmerman unloaded the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 at the Plymouth Dirt Track on an absolute picturesque day in The Badger State. This racy one-third mile, semi-banked facility is located right in the middle of town on the grounds of the Sheboygan County Fair Association. The SLS Promotions team was prepared to host the traveling stars of the sport as well as some Kubota High Limit Series invaders for the first of three races in the Badger State Triple. There were 39 race teams parked throughout the pit area ready to entertain the fans in the state known for cheese.

After selecting a small number in the Eloy Gutierrez Pill Draw, Carson in his first ever WoO visit would be the sixth driver to run his time trial laps at the Plymouth Dirt Track out of Flight 1 in Honest Abe Roofing Qualifying. The Californian climbed into his high-speed office and buckled into his Crow Enterprizes safety belts before rolling into the staging lane to await his turn. When Tanner Thorson #88 finished his work, it was Carson’s turn to make speed. He flipped the shield down on his Bell Helmet and went to work during this solo portion of the show. His goal was to make quick work of his two laps around the banking at Plymouth. He hopped on the gas and raced under the waving green flag to start his first lap. 11.491 seconds later the stopwatch recorded his first lap. Carson was not done yet though as he had one last chance to see if he could get any more speed out of the Scott Boyd Family/Sander Engineering/Ben Cook Race Car Products #41 Maxim. It does not take long for these speed athletes to get around here, so he would soon know. He powered his way out of turn four with the black and white checkered cloth waving above. This time the clock captured his lap in 11.399 seconds. The better of his two laps ended the night second quick overall in Flight 1. Turning the quickest lap of the night when all was said and done out of Flight 1 at 11.385 seconds was Rico Abreu piloting the Rothwell Hyde Napa Valley #24 to earn him the Simpson Quick Time Award. Kyle Larson was the fastest driver in Flight 2 at 11.449 seconds.

The timing and scoring officials with the World of Outlaws quickly went to work to build out the starting lineups for each of the four 10-lap Heat races. Carson’s best qualifying lap positioned him on the pole position aboard the Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT)/Mr. Jim’s Racing/Sam I Am #41 in Real American Beer Heat Race #2 where he would start beside High Limit regular Tanner Thorson #88. Giovanni Scelzi #18 and Donny Schatz #15 were in row two with Hunter Schuerenberg #55 and Chris Windom #7s in row three. Scotty Theil #51 and Josh Schneiderman #49J paced from row four with Tyler Tischendorf #26 and Billy Kreutz #3BK in row five.

The field was nose-to-tail in their two-wide formation as they slowly paced while anxiously awaiting the flagman to release them to compete with the unfurling of the green flag. That happened off turn four with Carson drag racing down the front straightaway in the Albaugh #41 with Tanner Thorson into turn one. Macedo exited turn two with the lead in front of Thorson and Scelzi.

Carson was up on the wheel in the Albaugh – Your Alternative machine out in the lead with everyone else giving chase. He was having a blast and did not look back as he made circles around the Plymouth Dirt Track. He would lead the race from the drop of the green to the waving of the checkers to win the heat race in front of Thorson, Scelzi, Schatz, and Windom. It was Carson’s fifth consecutive heat race win in a row.

By virtue of his heat race win, Carson put the forty-one in the loaded 8-lap Toyota Dash. After the draw, the driver of the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 would get his Maxim Racing hotrod started from the inside of row four with five-time World of Outlaws champion, and the defending High Limit champion, Brad Sweet to his outside. High Rollers Kyle Larson #57 and Rico Abreu #57 sat on the front row with Tyler Courtney #7BC and Danny Sams III #24D in row two. Row three featured Michael Kofoid #83 and Tanner Thorson #88. There were six High Limit series regulars and only two World of Outlaws representatives in the Dash. The green flag flew, Kyle Larson darted into the lead ahead of Rico Abreu. The top line was the referred line early with Carson searching around back in the eighth position. Larson was alone out front the entire race leading from start to finish with Rico Abreu coming home second. Tyler Courtney crossed the finished line third followed by Michael Kofoid and Tanner Thorson. Brad Sweet and Danny Sams III were right behind with Carson finishing in the eighth spot.

With all the qualifying action in the rearview mirror, the eight-minute horn sounded throughout the pit area prior to the 35-lap Badger State Triple feature event where Carson would start from the eighth position on the grid. Kyle Larson #57 would start from the pole position in the A-Main after winning the Dash with Rico Abreu #24 sharing the front row with him. Row two also featured two stout and talented competitors, Tyler Courtney #7BC and Michael Kofoid #83.

When all the engines fired and each driver completed a few warmup laps, the drivers slowly aligned in twelve rows side-by-side readying for the start of the race. This is what the fans paid the admission price to see. Who they wanted to see win was sharply divided based off personal preference – everyone else was the enemy. When the front row starters crossed the chalk stripe in turn for the race was on.

Outside front row starter Rico Abreu jumped into the early lead ahead of Larson, but it was short lived as the red flag came out before the first lap could be completed when Logan Schuchart got on his side in turn four after racing contact. He was ok and the Shark Racing team did a fantastic job making repairs to get the driver of the Drydene #1s back out for the complete restart.

They would try to get rolling again with Rico replicating the first start and taking over the lead with Kyle Larson settling into second. Carson was battling early with Danny Sams III for the seventh position in the running order as the two talented racers were wheel to wheel before the caution flag came out with one lap recorded. The race slow down this time was for Chase Randall #9 who stopped on the track with a flat left rear tire and wheel damage. He, too, with the help of his team made the repairs and tagged the rear of the field.

The green flag was back out with Abreu strutting his stuff out in front of the pack with Larson and Kofoid keeping him in their sights with Tyler Courtney and Brad Sweet not too far behind. Carson was still looking to gain one spot on the scoreboard as e was dueling with Danny Sams III. He was closing and on lap 5, Carson would peek to the inside entering turn three and drive underneath Sams III off turn four to take the seventh position.

The next time around the race came to an abrupt halt when second place running Kyle Larson had a right rear wheel break sending his high and violently into the turn one fence. The tough racer, friend to many, and competitor to all thankfully climbed out, but his night of racing in Plymouth was over.

A different duo of Californians, Rico Abreu and Michael Kofoid, would pair up on the front row for the restart with Abreu setting sail when he saw the green flag come out. Kofoid tucked behind in second with Tyler Courtney and Brad Sweet right behind. Carson used the restart to drive around Tanner Thorsen to move into the top five.

The top five drivers on the racing surface were close with ten laps in the books with races for positions happening throughout the field. On lap 12, tenth place running David Gravel slowed on the track to bring out the caution flag for the Big Game Motorsports #2 before he headed to the work area with apparent rear end issues. He was unable to make the necessary repairs, and his night ended.

Carson would restart the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 from the fifth spot behind Brad Sweet. Rico Abreu would again feather the accelerator before mashing it to lead Kofoid and Courtney as the field got back up to speed in their speed chariots that weight 1,425 pounds or more.

At the halfway point of the race the top five was Rico Abreu, Michael Kofoid, Tyler Courtney, and Brad Sweet with Carson Macedo running in the last spot in the top five. He was pressuring the proven driver and star of the NAPA Auto Parts #49 but could not make the pass for position.

The race again slowed down on lap 19, this time for Ayrton Gennetten #3 who spun in the first set of runs after contact with Garet Williamson #23.

The race would resume with 16 laps to go with Abreu still showing the way around the Plymouth Dirt Track. The restart closed the gaps throughout the field and Carson took advantage of that opportunity and stayed right on the rear nerf bar of Sweet’s NAPA Auto Parts entry. On lap 22, the Lemoore, California driver moved by the Grass Valley, California wheelman to take over fourth.

Carson wasted little time moving in on third place running Tyler Courtney in the Clausen Marshall Racing (CMR)/Spire Motorsports NOS Energy Drink #7BC to create a duel for the show position with five laps remaining. Carson looked high. He then closed one eye and checked low. Both avenues showed no light as Courtney cleanly closed the door.

With two laps to go the race for the lead started to heat up between Abreu and Kofoid as the battle raged on for third between Courtney and Macedo. The driver of the Roth Motorsports/Mobil 1/Toyota #83 got a good run off turn two and dove to the bottom in turn three before sliding up across turn four for the lead. Kofoid’s right rear contacted Abreu sending the driver of the twenty-four sideways off turn four, but Abreu did a miraculous job to save it to maintain the lead with one lap to go.

Rico Abreu raced to the win, his second WoO victory in 2025, crossing the finish line ahead of Michael Kofoid and Tyler Courtney. Carson Macedo gained four positions from where he started to bring the forty-one home fourth with Brad Sweet rounding out the top five. Another good run for Macedo and the JJR #41!
