NORTHERN LIGHTS PERFORMANCE: COMPETING UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT IN THE FINALE OF THE FEDERATED AUTO PARTS SHOWDOWN AT OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY RESULTS IN A 15TH PLACE FINISH FOR THE FORTY-ONE TEAM

OHSWEKEN, ONTARIO, CANADA (May 15, 2025) – After driving the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 to a third-place finish to open the two-day Federated Auto Parts Showdown at Ohsweken, Carson Macedo was back at the track with his JJR teammates looking to continue to build their recent success against some of the best sprint car drivers in the country. The brilliant blue skies overhead filled with sunshine and anticipation. The fans started to make their way into the venue to find their seats for the evening’s entertainment of speed and excitement presented by the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series competitors. There were 37 drivers and teams lined back up in the pit area for night two at Ohsweken Speedway.

Honest Abe Roofing Qualifying was the first order of business on the racing itinerary for the night. Each driver found out where they would go out for their solo performance in time trials which was determined by random draw in the Eloy Gutierrez Pill Draw. For Carson that meant he would be the thirty-third athlete to push out to show off his skills creating speed behind the wheel of the Scott Boyd Family/Winters Performance Products/AutoMeter #41 Maxim. He had his Crow Enterprizes safety belt secured tightly as the engine under his Prime Composite Innovations carbon fiber hood started to rotate and rumble. Carson without hesitation stood on the gas quickly showed off the power of these open wheel sprint cars. The green flag was waving in the air as the clock was on the move when he tripped the timing and scoring laser. The seasoned speedster made his way around the track in 13.640 seconds to end lap one. During his second lap, Carson was working hard to pick up anything he may have left out on the track during his first attempt. The clock only shares unwavering truths, so what ever the numbers read would stand. When he raced under the checkered flag to end his qualifying session, he completed lap two in13.415 seconds. His second lap was the quicker of his two laps which put him eighth quickest overall on the speed charts when time trials concluded. The driver with the fastest lap of the night to garner the Simpson Quick Time Award was Garet Williamson in the Fischer Motorsports #23 displaying his speed with a lap of 13.091 seconds.

Next up on the competition agenda was the four 8-lap Heat races with the starting lineups arranged based off each driver’s best time trial lap. This would be the first time a group of cars would race together under green flag conditions. There were five transfer positions up for grabs with the first place and runner-up finishers in each of those Heat races locking down a spot in the Toyota Dash. The driver of the Complete Parts & Equipment Solutions/Bandy & Associates/CS Productions #41 Maxim would get his escapade commenced from the outside of the front row in The Greatest Store on Dirt Heat #4. Chris Windom pulled the NOS Energy Drink #7S up beside him into the pole position. Row two featured Jonathan Preston #22 and Ryan Turner #15T with Dan McCarron #22M and Hunter Schuerenberg #55 in row three. Davie Franek #28F and Glenn Styres #0 were in row four with Tate O’Leary #28K alone in row five.

The field of speed athletes paced coordinated together nose-to-tail and side-by-side until they reached turn four. When they inched over the chalk stripe it quickly turned into racing at its best. Chris Windom seized the lead on the opening lap as he raced out in front of Carson Macedo and Hunter Schuerenberg.

With the Sides Motorsports #7s out front, Hunter Schuerenberg drove into the runner-up position with Carson tracking in third. Windom led wire-to-wire to take the win over Schuerenberg as those two drives advanced onto the Toyota Dash. Carson brought the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 home third with Ryan Turner and Jonathan Preston securing the last two transfer positions.

The fans used the small break before the 35-lap Federated Auto Parts Showdown at Ohsweken feature finale to fill up at the concession stands and take a bio break. The Finishing order from the Toyota Dash put Dylan Westbrook #47X on the pole with Chris Windom #7s to his outside on the front row. Cory Turner #15T and Garet Williamson #23 shared row two with David Gravel #2 and Conner Morrell #28M beside each other in row three. Gassers Hunter Schuerenberg #55 and Sheldon Haudenschild #17 were in row four to start the race.

Carson’s quest for the win found him in row six in the twelfth starting spot pacing around in the Albaugh – Your Alternative/Sander Engineering/High Performance Lubricants #41 Maxim. He shared the row with Michael Kofoid in the Roth Enterprises #83.

Off turn for the green lights turned on with Westbrook driving into the top spot. Carson was able to drive into the top ten early running behind Giovanni Scelzi. The red flag came out when Scelzi flipped in turn two. He headed to the work area and rejoined the field.

When racing resumed Westbrook maintained the lead with David Gravel patiently waiting behind him running in the sixth position and licking his chops on the technical surface. Carson worked his way up to as high as seventh on the scoreboard before retreating in the running order late in the race.

With 15 laps to go, David Gravel moved into the runner-up position competing behind race leader Conner Morrell #28M who took the lead away from Westbrook on lap 15. The driver of the two car was smooth and poised and with nine laps to go took the lead and raced to the win to sweep the races at Ohsweken Speedway. Conner Morrell came home second with Dylan Westbrook finishing third.

Carson held on to record a 15th place finish after struggling over the last fifteen laps of the race. The team will stay focus as they travel to Cornwall Motor Speedway on Sunday night to end the Canadian swing.
