MONDAY MADNESS IN FLORIDA: CARSON PICKS UP THE PACE AT VOLUSIA SPEEDWAY PARK DRIVING THE COMPLETE PARTS & EQUIPMENT SOLUTIONS #41 MAXIM TO A FOURTH PLACE FINISH IN THE FINALE OF THE BIKE WEEK JAMOBOREE

DE LEON SPRINGS, FLORIDA (March 2, 2026) – On Sunday night, Carson Macedo raced the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 Maxim to his fourth consecutive podium finish to start the 2026 season ending the night with another third place finish to open the two-day Bike Week Jamboree event at Volusia Speedway Park. When the sun came up the next morning over the Atlantic Ocean, Carson and the JJR #41 team awoke early and were back at work to prepare for the Bike Week Jamboree finale in Florida on Monday night. There were 31 talented competitors back and ready to roll around the fast half mile oval looking to be the victor standing on the stage at the end of the night holding the checkered flag. It was again time to go racing World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car style in Florida.

Following Hot Laps, the cars and drivers started to roll into the staging area located outside turn two as they lined up for their time trial laps around Volusia Speedway Park during Honest Abe Roofing Qualifying. Carson would be the eighth speed athlete out on the track in the Complete Parts & Equipment Solutions/Motor State Distributing/Saldana Racing Products #41 Maxim after pulling the ‘17’ pill. The goal was the same for every driver – make as much speed as possible with their car locked down for two trips around Volusia’s oval. Each driver’s best lap would officially count, so they had to be on their game from green to checkers during their timed sessions. When Owasso, Oklahoma’s own Daryn Pittman, driving the Kreitz Racing #69k, completed his laps, it was one of the talented California WoO Platinum drivers turn to display his talents behind the wheel of the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41. Carson was eager to make speed. He sat up in the seat and was ready to get his elbows up when he came off turn four for the first time. The Lemoore, California native charged under the waving green flag and raced through the first set of turns and down the backstretch. When he exited turn four, he was digging hard and stopped the clock at 13.963 seconds to end his first lap. Carson stayed focused and kept working from his high speed office. He was looking to find a bit more speed anywhere he could during his second lap. When he completed lap two, the clock measuring his work read 13.932 seconds which was slightly quicker than his first lap. The better of his two laps positioned him 9th quick overall on the final speed charts. The quickest driver of the night in time trials was Sunday night’s feature winner Sheldon Haudenschild in the NOS Energy Drink/KCP Racing #18 earning him the Simpson Quick Time Award with a lap of 13.544 seconds.

The starting lineups for the three Heat races were established based on each driver’s best lap time in time trials. The fastest drivers in each qualifying race would start in the front of the pack with everyone else forced to try and chase them down from behind over the course of eight laps, which certainly go by quickly here at Volusia. When reviewing the starting lineups, Carson would start third in WIX Filters Heat Race #3 wheeling the Scott Boyd Family/Sam I AM/Greber Racing Components (GRC) #41 Maxim. He pulled to the inside of ten-time World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz behind the wheel of the CJB #15 in the second row with Tanner Holmes #13 and Scott Bogucki #51 pacing out front. Lined up in row three were Logan Schuchart #1s and Cameron Martin #4 with Daison Pursley #9 and Garet Williamson #23 in row four. Kasey Jedrzejek #6 and Chase Randall #9R were right behind them in the fifth and final row at the start.

These talented racers were prepared to put on a show for the fans in the stands. The pace was slow but soon about to pick up quickly when they arrived at the chalk stripe in turn four. Tanner Holmes did not waste any time seizing the lead in the Pella Windows and Doors/Buch Motorsports #13 as he drove into the clean air in front of Donny Schatz who was railing the high line to make speed. Carson got shuffled back to fifth place early behind Holmes, Schatz, Bogucki, and Martin as his path forward around the bottom narrowed on the opening circuit as the race leader was using a similar line as they entered turn one.

Carson regathered himself and started his recovery efforts moving by Cameron Martin on lap 3 with Logan Schuchart following suit. Donny Schatz was using his speed around the top and drove around Holmes for the race lead as there was action everywhere you looked from the front of the pack to the back.

Macedo was now zeroing in on third place running Scott Bogucki. The next time he passed for the show position and was a little over 2.5 seconds behind Schatz who was still out front. The Californian was now in hot pursuit of Holmes who was running in the second spot.

The speedy action slowed suddenly on lap 6 when the race leader, Donny Schatz, was off the pace ending his great run in the qualifying race. Tanner Holmes inherited the lead back with two laps to go with Carson Macedo, Logan Schuchart, Scott Bogucki, and Kasey Jedrzejek behind him waiting to get back up to speed.

The field was hammer down again as they raced down the front straightaway. Carson was looking to dive underneath Holmes entering turn one, but Holmes sensed it and closed the lane quickly. Carson adjusted and moved up a lane as he carried his momentum off the middle lane off turn two eventually making the pass for the lead in the next set of turns. Macedo, Holmes and Schuchart were now all embroiled in a three car race for the lead as they raced under the white flag, indicating one lap to go.

Carson had the late race lead, and the other two talented chauffeurs wanted it. Macedo was able to fend them off and raced to the Heat race win as Holmes made his way back into second place entering turn three on the last lap moving by the Shark Racing #1s. Schuchart crossed the finish line third with Scott Bogucki coming home fourth, Daison Pursley fifth, and Kasey Jedrzejek locking down the sixth and final transfer position out of the third Heat race. What an exciting race filled with highs, lows, and a lot of drama and action in between.

For the second night in a row Carson would have a chance to race for his starting spot in the feature through the Toyota Dash. He would need to draw for his starting position and drew the ‘4’ pill out of the oversized NOS Energy Drink can in Victory Lane during the Dash Draw. David Gravel #2 was fortunate enough to be on the pole with Sheldon Haudenschild #18 to his outside. Anthony Macri #39M would be on the inside of Carson in row two with Ashton Torgerson #1A and Tanner Holmes #13 paired together in row three. It was Sheldon Haudenschild racing into the early lead ahead of Gravel and Macedo when the green flag waved. The NOS Energy Drink #18 was fast again cruising out front with no challengers in sight. Carson moved into the third spot and was making speed along with the rest of the field. Sheldon raced to the Dash victory over Gravel with Carson crossing under the checkers in third. Anthony Macri raced home fourth with Tanner Holmes and Ashton Torgerson completing the finishing order in the Dash.

With all the qualifying action now in the books, the 24 cars that earned their way into the feature joined the 3 provisional starters as they started to roll out onto the track to stage for the 25-lap Bike Week Jamboree feature finale. Carson Macedo climbed behind the wheel of the Albaugh – Your Alternative/Bandy & Associates Accountancy Corporation/Walker Performance Filtration #41 where he would start from the third position in a stout field. He shared row two with Anthony Macri in the J&S Classics/Randy Shearer Plumbing & Heating #39M. Sheldon Haudenschild and David Gravel were on the front row and would be tough tandem to beat on this night at Volusia.

But in racing no one ever knows, which is what makes this type of racing exciting and why they race. It was now time to chase the $12,000 awarded to the winner. The shields on the helmets were down as these talented speedsters were ready to battle it out around Volusia Speedway Park. The front row was comprised of a formidable and talented duo – Sheldon Haudenschild in the KCP Racing #18 and David Gravel in the Big Game Motorsports #2 – who led the pack to the green flag as they unleashed the 900 horsepower under the hoods of these methanol eating beasts.

Carson was right behind them and mashed the gas. He was in the mix for the lead from the get-go. Macedo looked under Haudenschild through the first set of turns and raced down the backstretch entering turn three low and sliding up across the track in front of Gravel to take the lead on the opening lap with Haudenschild scored in the third position.

The driver of the forty-one was masterfully maneuvering around the half-mile oval hitting his marks and maintaining his lead over Gravel and Haudenschild throughout the first nine laps of the race. Anthony Macri sat comfortably in the fourth position with Ashton Torgerson holding down the fifth spot.

The two-time WoO champion, David Gravel, was keeping pace with the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41. The Connecticut driver was close and on lap 10 moved the Big Game Motorsports #2 by Carson to take the lead. The next time around the track, Carson drove back into the top spot making his way by Gravel moving to the top of the scoreboard. Anthony Macri was right behind and used the opportunity to pass the Huset’s Speedway.com car too and was now running in second position.

On lap 13, the yellow lights turned on around the track to pause the competitive action as Austin McCarl #88 slowed to a stop in turn three. Carson was the race leader with Macri directly to his outside for the restart. The driver of the #39M hustled into the lead when they got back up to speed and led the next five laps before another caution flag came out on lap 18 for Chris Martin #4 who made hard contact with the outside wall in turn two flattening his right rear tire.

It would be Macri, Macedo, Gravel, Torgerson, and Schuchart all dueling for the win with seven laps to go in the race. Anthony Macri fired off when the green flag waved again with David Gravel sneaking by Carson into the runner-up position. Behind them though was Ashton Torgerson who had a fast race car and was closing quickly. The Shark Racing #1A was on the move and soon would be in contention to compete for a lower numbered position.

On lap 20, Torgerson took the show position away from Macedo. A few laps later he moved past David Gravel into the runner-up position and turned his attention to Macri as the white flag waved. Anthony Macri hung on for the win by 0.679 seconds over the hard-charging Ashton Torgerson with David Gravel coming home third. Carson Macedo raced home fourth with Daryn Pittman #69K securing the final spot in the top five.

What a race. What a night. And, what a show for the fans in Florida at the track and for those tuning in on DIRTVision. Carson and the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Series will stay in the south as they head to Eastaboga, Alabama on Friday (3/6) for the Dega Duel at Talladega Short Track before continuing to Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi for the Black Ice Brawl on Saturday (3/7).
