JOHNSON GARNERS A SEVENTH PLACE FINISH IN THE 41st ANNUAL SPRING NATIONALS FINALE AT DEVIL’S BOWL SPEEDWAY
MESQUITE, TEXAS (March 29, 2014) – Jason and the JJR/Stenhouse Jr. Racing team were back at Devil’s Bowl Speedway for the second night of last week’s postponed 41st Annual Spring Nationals. After a week of hard work at the shop, compounded by the heartache as the team dealt with the unexpected passing of friend and team member Patrick Silva, being back at the track provided some solace. Jason was excited to be back in the American Eagle Harley-Davidson hot rod. Always one to like cruising around the famous half-mile at Devil’s Bowl, Jason climbed into his ButlerBuilt Professional Seat System and pulled the buckles tight on his Crow Enterprizes safety equipment for heat two where he would start in the third spot. With the track heavy and fast, front row starters Blake Hahn and Joe Wood pounded the loud pedal as the Ragin’ Cajun followed them into turn one at lightning speeds. The top three would finish exactly where they started, but they were all on a high speed chase as Hahn laid down the fastest lap of the night at 13.7 seconds, which equated to an average speed of over 130 miles per hour. They were fast. Jason locked in The Shop Diesel Service/K&N Filters #41 into the Spring Nationals finale where he would start the 30-lap feature on the inside of row seven from the thirteenth starting spot. Pole sitter Patrick Stasa paced the field as the green flag waved. The Louisiana wheelman was working feverishly in the cockpit of his Maxim as he built up his speed and navigated by his competition as opportunities availed themselves on the track. Jason’s and the team’s efforts paid off as he crossed the finish line in the seventh spot, as Patrick Stasa took the win in the 41st Annual Spring National finale.
