JJ RIDES TO AN EIGHTH PLACE FINISH ABOARD THE WACO METAL #41 MAXIM AT LAWTON SPEEDWAY ON NIGHT TWO OF THE ASCS NATIONAL TOUR SPEEDWEEK

LAWTON, OKLAHOMA (June 18, 2014) – It was the second night of competitive racing action in the 2014 edition of the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour’s Bob Westphal Memorial Cup Speedweek at Lawton Speedway’s quarter mile bullring. On this night, 44 cars checked into the pit area and each driver was eager to strap in and race for the top step of the podium at the end of the evening.

The number of sprint cars in the pit area called for six heat races. Jason and the Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT)/Fischer Body Shop #41 Maxim would start from the fifth starting spot in heat race number five. When the green flag waved and the field got up to speed the eight laps clicked off quickly. When winner Tim Crawley crossed the finish line, he was followed closely by Joe Wood Jr. with Jason in the show position.

As the qualifying action concluded and the feature lineup was finalized, the driver of the CURB Records/BMRS #41 machine out of Rocky Mount, Missouri was on the outside of row seven. With the track taking on rubber, a lot of early movement and action was going to be critical in order to pass cars before the track got locked down during the 30-lap event. Front row starters Sam Hafertepe, Jr. and Brandon Hahn paced the field and brought them up to speed as the action went from slow speed to high speed on the track. Jason used his KSE Racing Products to steer his way around the competition on his march forward. Hafertepe was showing the way as the track got locked down about midway through the event. He would go onto claim the victory as the Cajun Sensation road to an eighth place finish from the latter part of the field.
