THE STENHOUSE JR. RACING TEAM DRIVES TO A 13TH PLACE FINISH ON NIGHT ONE AT THE BOOT HILL SHOWDOWN AT DODGE CITY RACEWAY PARK WITH THE OUTLAWS

DODGE CITY, KANSAS (July 4, 2014) – Soon after the lights dimmed at Jackson Speedway on Thursday night, Jason and the crew climbed into the hauler and started their eleven hour trek south to Dodge City Raceway Park for an opportunity to compete against the World of Outlaws in the two day Boot Hill Showdown. As the old adage goes, “If you want to be the best, you have to compete against the best.” When they arrived at Dodge City Raceway Park, they were one of twenty seven teams in the pit area for night one racing action around the pristine, high banked 3/8th-mile oval.

The first order of business was time trials. The push truck pulled behind the Jonestown KOA/www.racediecast.com Maxim with the Cajun Sensation aboard and with a gentle tap on the rear nerf bar the engine came to life. These cars get around these bullrings pretty quick and the orange, black and white #41 circled the oval in 13.133 seconds, which when all the dust settled was good enough for 16th quick on the night.

When the heat race lineups were set, Jason would be in the fastest of the heat races based on qualifying times, heat one, starting from the outside of row three. Buckled in, he tightened the chin strap of his Shell Shock custom painted Arai Helmet and slipped on his Oakley racing gloves. His Don Ott Racing Engine fired and he rolled into his starting position needing to secure a top five finish to advance to the main event. With Logan Schuchart to his inside, he hopped on the accelerator when the green flag waved and secured that coveted fifth position in the running order. He continued to circle around the racy oval and held the position to advance to the Boot Hill Showdown feature event.

For the feature event, the Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT)/Winters Performance Products #41 Maxim would be pacing the field from the sixteenth starting spot. When the initial green flag dropped, it was quickly replaced by the red flag when front row starters Paul McMahan and Sammy Swindell got together with Swindell flipping hard. When racing resumed, the high speed action was back on and everyone was jockeying for position everywhere around the track. Jason was maneuvering for position and making progress, but when Daryn Pittman took the checkers the Cajun racer crossed the stripe in the 13th position. A good night for the team. Jason and the team will be back at it on Saturday night at Dodge City Raceway Park on night two of the Boot Hill Showdown looking to improve on their results and efforts.
