THE RAGIN’ CAJUN SAILS TO A 9TH PLACE FINISH IN WINDY CONDITIONS AT TUCSON INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY AGAINST THE OUTLAWS
TUCSON, ARIZONA (March 8, 2014) – The JJR/Stenhouse Jr. Racing team was back in action against the World of Outlaws with the Ragin’ Cajun behind the wheel of the Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT)/Tony Lama Boots #41 at Tucson International Raceway. There were 29 drivers in the pit area eager to get on the loud pedal to see if they could secure one of the coveted 24 starting spots in the main event. When the orange, white and black accented Maxim rolled out for time trials it was hammer down time as the Louisiana chauffeur laid a lap down in 12.911 seconds, which was 14th quick overall. With only three heats on this night, he rolled out and started heat race number two from the fifth starting spot. When the eight laps were completed, he rounded out the top five crossing the line behind heat race winner Joey Saldana, Ian Madsen, Danny Lasoski and Cody Darrah. The top five finish was good enough to lock him into the competitive A-Main starting field. With the winds in the area picking up, the conditions trackside got considerably more complex and difficult for these high speed entertainers. With the main event field set, Jason climbed into his ButlerBuilt racing seat and tightened down his Crow Enterprizes safety belts for 25-laps of exciting racing action. Front row starters Brad Sweet and Kerry Madsen brought the field to the green as the wind howled and the engines roared. Inside the cockpit of the #41, the driver was racing hard using his KSE Racing Products to navigate through the competition as he patiently worked his way forward through the field. When race winner Brad Sweet took the checkers, Jason crossed the stripe with a ninth place finish as the air flowed over his Vortex Racing Products wings to secure his first top ten against the World of Outlaws (WoO) in 2014.
