JASON PERSEVERES THROUGH CHALLENGING NIGHT AT ELECTRIC CITY SPEEDWAY WITH AN ELEVENTH PLACE FINISH AS THE ASCS NATIONAL TOUR VISITS BIG SKY COUNTRY

GREAT FALLS, MONTANA (July 11, 2014) – The Stenhouse Jr. Racing team and driver were back on the road with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competitors as they traveled through the beautiful scenery of Montana on their way to Great Falls. Great Falls gets its name from the series of five waterfalls nearby along the upper Missoula River basin that the Lewis and Clark Expedition had to find a way around in order to continue their journey. Jason and the team had to find their way around a number of obstacles on this night at Electric City Speedway as the ASCS National Tour travelers were facing the ASCS Frontier competitors in Big Sky Country.

There were 33 cars ready to go and four heats lined up for qualifying. Jason pushed off in the fourth heat and rolled to his seventh starting spot in the Jonestown KOA/Xtreme Accu-Tach #41 Maxim. With passing at a premium and only eight laps to complete your work, everyone had to be on the gas and hit their marks. Jason was able to gain only one spot in the final running order, finishing sixth, relegating him to the B-Main in order to get into the feature event.

In the B-Main, he rolled his Weld Racing wheels out to his seventh start spot for the 15-lap last chance qualifying race. The top six finishers earn a spot in the highlight event of the night. When the green flag was displayed, Jason dropped his right foot and called for all the horsepower his Don Ott Racing Engine could supply. The car rocketed into turn one and the chase was on to climb the leader board. When the black and white cloth flew over the field, he finished in the fourth spot to advance to the 30-lap feature.

Starting from the twentieth starting spot in the Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT)/Waco Metals forty one, the Louisiana gasser would need to use a balance of speed and patience in order to make a good night out of what up to this point was a challenging night. When the green lights came on around the speedway, outside front row starter Blake Hahn led the field into turn one. Back a little further, Jason was wheelin’ his Maxim into any opening he could find as he moved forward. He was making steady progress and moving up the scoring charts with each completed lap. The race laps were clicking down quickly and when the white flag was shown it was quickly replaced by the yellow when Jason got into the wall. After going to the work area and rejoining the field, the final lap was raced as Jason and the team persevered for a hard earned 11th place finish at Electric City Speedway as Brad Loyet took the win in front of Blake Hahn and Matt Covington.
