A SECOND PLACE RUN FOR THE PRO POWDER COATING FORTY ONE AT OUTLAW MOTORSPORTS PARK IN LUCAS OIL ASCS NATIONAL TOUR RACING ACTION
MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA (May 2, 2014) – The ultra competitive Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour was back on the track at Outlaw Motorsports Park for some open wheel madness with 32 sprint cars in the pit area. It did not take long for the JJR/Stenhouse Jr. Racing orange and black colored Waco Metals speed machine to capture the crowd’s attention when he pulled onto the speedway for heat two. Wheeling the Pro Powder Coating (PPC)/Jonestown KOA #41 Maxim Chassis onto the outside of row one alongside Harli White, the native Louisiana gasser wasted very little time seizing the lead when flagman Roy Wagner unleashed the green flag for the initial start. But before a lap was completed, the green was replaced with the red as White and Brandon Hahn got together and took each other out in turn two. On the restart, this time with Dustin Morgan to his left, the Ragin’ Cajun pedaled down and his Don Ott Racing Engine under the hood delivered the horsepower needed to propel him into the lead going into turn one. He would not look back as the air flowed over his Vortex Racing Products wings and locked him down on the racy surface as he took the checkers 2.759 seconds ahead of second place finisher Dustin Morgan. Teammate Josh Baughman, Johnny Herrera, and Tim Crawley rounded out the top five. His good fortunes continued as he selected the one pill in the feature redraw to earn the right to start from the pole position. Philip Dietz and Travis Marsch made sure they made all of the necessary tweaks and adjustments to Valvoline/Curb Records Maxim before Jason buckled into his ButlerBuilt Professional Seat System to take the green for 25 laps around the fast and smooth 3/8-mile oval. When the competitors broke out of the three-wide salute to the fans it was ‘go’ time. The chauffeur of the MSD Performance machine was on the gas and making the pass as he led the field through turns one and two ahead of Aaron Reutzel and Jeff Swindell. Reutzel would stay in hot pursuit through the early stages of the race as the Rocky Mount, Missouri resident showed the way. As the leaders entered traffic, they started to wage a war for the top spot at times going three wide at speed with the slower traffic. Reutzel stole the lead, before Jason took it right back. But, ultimately it would be Reutzel stealing it again and going on to victory just ahead of the Cajun Sensation and Dustin Morgan who rounded out the top three podium spots. Jason commented, “The Stenhouse Jr. Racing boys worked hard all night and gave me a good car.” He continued, “We just got beat, but I am not sure how because we had a really good car as the boys had this Maxim dialed in.”
