ROCKY MOUNT, MISSOURI (July 22, 2019) – We are honored and grateful to have the opportunity to partner with Axalta as the primary sponsor on the Jason Johnson Racing (JJR) #41 with David Gravel behind the wheel at the 59th Annual NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals. It has been a pleasure collaborating closely with everyone involved to work through the details as we put this deal together. We are excited to unveil the beautifully prepared Axalta color scheme that Sean Cain at Blackbeard designed and Noah Ennis at Shell Shock is painting for the debut August 8th through the 11th at Knoxville Raceway. We also greatly appreciate all the encouragement, support and guidance that Jeff Gordon has provided in working to team up with Axalta.
This is JJR’s second “Golden Opportunity” at the Sprint Car Capital of the World – Knoxville Raceway – as Jason Johnson took advantage of the first one and #ParkedIt for Bryan Clauson in the 56th Annual Edition of the Knoxville Nationals in 2016! JJR owner Bobbi Johnson explains, “This brings tears to my eyes as it has always our dream to partner and proudly represent a large organization at JJR since we began our team back in 2010. We (Bobbi and her late husband Jason) never wanted to be given anything, but wanted to work hard for it and produce results on and off the track to earn it.” She continued, “We are very grateful for this opportunity with Axalta and Jeff Gordon and are going to work extremely hard to make them proud at the Knoxville Nationals.” She concluded, “We have so many dedicated and loyal sponsorship partners that have believed in us and supported our dream through good times and tough times, and it is so cool to bring Axalta on board for the Knoxville Nationals.”
JJR #41 driver David Gravel has always been a fan of Jeff Gordon since he was a child. The talented driver from Watertown, Connecticut shared, “To say I am excited us an understatement. I am honored and proud to have Axalta Racing and Jeff Gordon join us for the Knoxville Nationals.” He also highlighted, “The car is going to look great under the lights at Knoxville with our Axalta paint. I can’t wait to make them proud on the track!”
