DOUBLING DOWN AT THE BIG E: ON THE SECOND NIGHT OF THE #LETSRACETWO, CARSON MACEDO PUTS IN A WORKMANLIKE EFFORT THROUGHOUT THE RACE CROSSING THE CHECKERS WITH A 13TH PLACE RUN IN THE FORTY-ONE!

ROSSBURG, OHIO (May 16, 2026) – When all the dueling action concluded on Friday night at Eldora Speedway to end the first of two nights in the #LetsRaceTwo presented by LGMG North America weekend, it was time to get back at it on Saturday, a day recognized as Armed Forces Day in the United States, with another entertaining night and show of speed by these sprint car stars. After starting 18th in the feature on Friday night and racing forward to a 12th place finish after a slower start, Carson Macedo and the Jason Johnson Racing (JJR) #41 team eagerly awaited the opportunity to get back on the track to compete at the “Big E” to prove themselves one final time before coming back here for the four night Kings Royal week in the middle of July. Joining the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series stars were the talented troop of USAC Sprint Car racers for the back end of the high speed doubleheader at the House that Earl Built. A quick journey through the infield pit area revealed 29 410 sprint cars came back to the track and parked as they prepared to compete in the finale of the #LetsRaceTwo presented by LGMG North America event at Eldora Speedway.

After Race//Ready Hot Laps ended, it was time to get down to more serious business in Honest Abe Roofing Qualifying. Throughout qualifying each driver gets two shots at accelerating against the fast moving clock. These 900 horsepower rocket ships get around this famous half mile quick, so the slightest bobble during either of the time trial laps costs them valuable time in their overall measurement of speed. Buckled into his Crow Enterprizes safety belts inside the office of the Tarlton and Son/Factory Kahne (FK Shocks)/Schoenfeld Headers #41 Maxim, Carson was ready to go! His teammates – Robby, Adam, and Philip – rolled him back away from the trailer and escorted him to the staging area that runs parallel to the front straightaway. The driver of the forty-one pushed off 13th for his speed show with another Missouri based team and driver Brian Brown driving the Casey’s/Impact Signs #21. Macedo rolled out onto the track and up the banking in turn one. His Kistler Engines power came alive. Carson activated the throttle and was humming by the time he rolled off turn four and under the waving green flag to start his first circuit. The Californian made quick work of lap one finishing it in 13.355 seconds. Hammer down he continued his speed journey the next time around hitting all his marks. When his lap time popped up on the scoreboard it read 13.447 seconds, with the first lap being the fastest of his two attempts. That time ended the night 14th quick overall for the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 team. Friday night’s winner, Rico Abreu in the CARQUEST/Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) #24, was the quickest driver with the only sub-13 second lap of the night at 12.995 seconds to earn the Simpson Quick Time Award.

After the USAC Sprint Cars concluded their session around Eldora, it was time for the three 8-lapHeat races. Slated to be the fifth starter in The Greatest Store on Dirt Heat Race #2, Carson joined Sye Lynch #42 in row three for the start of the qualifying race where there were only six transfer spots up for grabs. They rolled directly in front of Justin Peck #26 and Kasey Jedrzejek #6 in row four with Bill Balog #17B and Brenham Crouch #5 tucked behind in row five. Those six drivers paced slowly behind Emerson Axsom #27 and Chris Windom #7s on the front row with David Gravel #2 and Logan Schuchart #1s trailing behind in the second row.

The 10 cars were all nose-to-tail in five artfully arranged rows. That was about to change though when the cars arrived at the exit of turn four. Chalk dust flew with the front row starters dueling down the frontstretch battling to see who could get through the first set of turns with the lead. Emerson Axsom #27 executed and was in the point position down the back straightaway leading lap one with Logan Schuchart and Chris Windom in tow.

Carson was wheeling and dealing from the fifth position safely strapped into the Complete Parts & Equipment Solutions/Scott Boyd Family/Xtreme Body & Paint #41. Macedo was dueling with Sye Lynch for the position as the Western Pennsylvania driver was showing him his nose early.

The action was moving and grooving until lap 6 when the yellow flag came out for Brenham Crouch who was off the pace rolling to a stop at the end of the front straightaway. The running order was Axsom, Schuchart, Windom, Gravel, Macedo, and Peck with Jedrzejek knocking on the door for the last transfer position.

It would be a green-white-checkered finish when the race resumed with Logan Schuchart chomping at the bit waiting for the green flag to come out. Out of turn four, Bobby Allen’s grandson powered his way into the lead ahead of Axsom, Windom, and Gravel with Carson battling from the fifth spot. Logan Schuchart took the win with Emerson Axsom coming home second as they both advanced on to the Toyota Dash out of this Heat race. Chris Windom fended off David Gravel to finish third with Carson crossing the line in fifth ahead of Justin Peck as those six drivers all advanced to the feature.

Locked into the 30-lap #LetsRaceTwo presented by LGMG North America feature finale, Carson finalized his race plan while putting the last tearoff onto the shield of his Empire Machinery/Clenin Farm Supply/KIWI Motorsports custom painted Bell Helmet. Eldora Speedway is a racetrack that demands the absolute best when it comes to the car, race setup, crew, and driver as they merge. Any variance, even just a smidge, makes climbing the hill to victory incredibly hard to accomplish. But when these components intersect and align it drives success. To end up in victory lane requires unwavering focus, precision, and everyone contributing their best to execute the winning plan.

The engines began to fire as Sheldon Haudenschild #18 and Brady Bacon #21 both pulled into their starting spots on the front row. Following close behind were Logan Schuchart #1s and Rico Abreu #24 in row two with Garet Williamson #23 and Emerson Axsom #27 side-by-side in row three. The first six starting positions lined up the way they finished in the Toyota Dash. The Albaugh – Your Alternative/CASM Safety Products/BR Motorsports #41 Maxim of Carson Macedo pulled to the outside of row seven beside Brian Brown #21 for the start of the race.

The anticipation amongst the fans was brimming. Competitive juices began to flow for the drivers pacing on the starting grid. The Whelan yellow lights turned off as they paced around at a snail’s pace. Coming off turn four the green flag waved high overhead with Brady Bacon pushing to be the first car into turn one. Following the leader were Logan Schuchart and Sheldon Haudenschild with Carson scored in the 12th spot after the first half mile was completed.

There were still 29 laps to go, so there was still a lot of time to compete and advance position. Logan Schuchart raced by Bacon to take the lead on lap two with Rico Abreu moving into third as Haudenschild and Axsom rounded out the top five. Carson was chasing Donny Schatz from the 12th position with Chris Windom right behind him putting on the pressure.

On lap 4, Carson was able to move by the 10-time World of Outlaws champion to take over 11th place in the running order. Up front the leaders were already starting to close in on the back of the pack as they were using the clean air to set sail.

On the eighth circuit, Brady Bacon reclaimed the lead from Logan Schuchart with Abreu, Axsom, and Haudenschild all watching the action unfold in front of them. There were spirited duels all around the track for the fans to enjoy. Donny Schatz was eating away at the space between himself and the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 and on lap 12 moved back by to take the eleventh spot from Carson. The next lap Kasey Jedrzejek #6 moved around the forty-one relegating him back to 13th place. That battle continued for a few laps before Carson raced by the young and talented racer back into the lowered number spot.

On lap 22, the driver of the Shark Racing #1s had a determined run and took the lead as he moved by Brady Bacon. Rico Abreu was also able to move by Bacon and was now running in the runner-up position. He had a fast racecar and was up in the wheel. These two would swap the second position back and forth over the next few laps as Schuchart extended his lead.

Carson was now contending with the hard charging Bill Balog. Macedo was trying his best to fend him off with seven laps remaining. One lap Balog had it. The next lap Macedo reclaimed it. Bit with one lap to go Balog drove his Anderson’s Pure Maple Syrup #17B into the spot for good as he made it official beating Macedo under the checkered flag to end the competition.

Logan Schuchart collecting the emotional win as he pointed to the sky to honor his grandfather Bobby Allen. Rico Abreu came home second with Brady Bacon, Emerson Axsom, and Sheldon Haudenschild completing the top five in the finale of the #LetsRaceTwo presented by LGMG North America.

Carson and the Jason Johnson Racing (JJR) #41 team will head West stopping at Jacksonville Speedway on Thursday night (5/21) for the Hy-Vee Perks 40. The originally scheduled date at the tumultuous bullring of entertainment forced a postponement back on April 17, 2026, when Mother Nature washed out the race date. Forecasted weather also postponed the Tuesday (5/19) date to this upcoming Thursday night. This is one of those races you just do not want to miss. Be sure to tune into DIRTVision to watch all the action if you cannot be at the track to sit on the edge of your seat . . . if you are even able to sit down with all the action around you. #HyVeePerks40
