BADGERING NIGHT OF ACTION: THE TRAVELING TOUR OF WORLD OF OUTLAWS SPEED DEMONS MADE THEIR WAY INTO WISCONSIN FOR THE CHEESE TOWN SHOWDOWN WITH THE FORTY-ONE CROSSING THE FINISH LINE WITH A TOP FIVE RUN

PLYMOUTH, WISCONSIN (June 6, 2026) – After weather washed out and postponed the World of Outlaws (WoO) return in Michigan over at Hartford Speedway for the Pure Michigan Showdown, Carson Macedo was primed and ready to get back on the track Saturday night. The early June schedule took the WoO teams into the state of Wisconsin for the first time this season for the Cheese Town Showdown at the Plymouth Dirt Track located on the Sheboygan Count Fair Association grounds. Last year when the Jason Johnson Racing (JJR) #41 team visited Plymouth’s quarter mile track they left with a fourth place run finishing behind Rico Abreu, Buddy Kofoid, and Tyler Courtney in a fabulous race. Carson was looking to improve on that finishing effort during this year’s return visit to the Plymouth Dirt Track. It would be no easy task though with 33 competitive 410 sprint car racing teams registered to battle it out for the winner’s share of the purse and the trophy. Joining them for the event were the MSCA 360 Sprints. It was time to chase the coveted prize in the Cheese Town Showdown in the Badger State of Wisconsin!

With the sun shining overhead, the cars began to roll in Race//Ready Hot Laps to start the night. The drivers and teams evaluate their setups for the night at speed on the track’s surface before time trials begin in Honest Abe Roofing Qualifying. After laying down the best lap in Hot Laps to earn his first Race//Ready Hottest Lap of the Night, Philip (Dietz), Robby (McQuinn), and Adam (Zimmerman) made a few setup tweaks hoping to give Carson the best and fastest car possible. The California Central Valley sprint car chauffeur would go out late as he was the 29th wheelman out on the track for his two timed attempts aboard the Scott Boyd Family/Ben Cook Race Car Products/Mr. Jim’s Racing #41 Maxim. After Conner Morrell in the Tub O’ Towels #28M completed his two timed circuits around Plymouth Dirt Track, Carson jumped on the gas and accelerated towards the flagstand to take the green. The numbers on the stopwatch were moving fast and so was Macedo. Where would the numbers stop? When he raced under the white flag 11.697 seconds popped up on the Race Monitor app. Carson kept his right foot planted hoping for more speed the next time around. This time the flagman held out the black and white checkered cloth with Carson ending the session with a lap of 11.680 seconds. The quicker of his two laps settled in at 16th fastest overall for the night. The name at the top of the speed charts though was a familiar one in the Big Game Motorsports #2 of David Gravel who mastered the track during his run laying down a lap in 11.386 seconds to earn his series leading 11th Simpson Quick Time Award of the season.

The World of Outlaws timing and scoring officials consolidated the time trial times and pulled together the starting lineups for the four 10-lap Heat Races at Plymouth Dirt Track. Those races would begin after a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem by Bryn McCabe before the four qualifying races kicked off. The starting lineup in Golf Cart Services Heat Race #4 found Carson on the outside of row two with Buddy Kofoid in the Roth Motorsports #83 rolling beside him. They were pacing behind front row starters Garet Williamson in the Fischer Motorsports #23 and Bill Balog in the Anderson’s Pure Maple Syrup #17B with Spencer Bayston in the Stenhouse Jr./Marshall Racing #17 and Creed Kemenah #15K tucked in behind in row three. Tommy Colburn #9 from New Berlin, Wisconsin and Plymouth, Wisconsin’s own Brady Portschy #55P populating the fourth and final row.

All eight competitors were set to battle for one of the five transfer positions that advances them directly to the A-Main feature event at the end of the night. The field arranged nose-to-tail and side-by-side as they made their way down the back straightaway. When they arrived in turn four they activated the loud pedal and were off to the races. Garet Williamson darted to the top spot ahead as third starting Buddy Kofoid drove into the runner-up position just ahead of Bill Balog as Carson Macedo nestled into the fourth position ahead of Spencer Bayston. Carson had the Albaugh -Your Alternative/Kistler Racing Engines/Pro Powder Coating (PPC) #41 bouncing around the track as he was looking to get around Balog for the show position.

Garet Williamson would not be denied as he raced to the qualifying race win by 0.343 seconds ahead of Buddy Kofoid with both moving onto the Toyota Dash to race for the starting positions in the feature. Bill Balog locked down third with Carson coming home fourth in the Albaugh – Your Alternative entry with Spencer Bayston laying claim to the last transfer position in fifth place.

With all the qualifying action now in the books, it was time for the 35-lap Cheese Town Showdown feature at the Plymouth Dirt Track in front of the sold out crowd, officially now the largest crowd in Plymouth Dirt Track history. Filled with incredible talent from the front row to the back row, the starting lineup was made up of seasoned competitors and budding stars of the sport. After finishing first and second in the Toyota Dash, David Gravel #2 and Joe B. Miller #51B would start on the front row and lead the field to the green flag followed by Buddy Kofoid #83 and Sheldon Haudenschild #18 in row two. Row three found Garet Williamson #23 and Donny Schatz #15 side-by-side with Cole Macedo #2C and Kasey Jedrzejek #6 in row four. Rolling way back in 16th position, Carson was ready to get after it in the Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT)/Winters Performance Products/PWR Advance Cooling Technology #41 Maxim from the outside of row eight with Chris Windom #7s pacing to his inside. It was time to go racing in the Badger State of Wisconsin.

The green flag waved with David Gravel wasting no time driving into the lead with Buddy Kofoid moving into the runner-up position followed by Joe B. Miller and Garet Williamson at the end of lap one. Carson hustled out of the gate into 12th place just ahead of Chris Windom with one in the books.

The initial action around the track was amazing with duels taking place two and three wide as they raced for positions. Carson was letting it all hang out around the top as he made his way forward. The Californian was battling hard with Chris Windom for a better spot on the scoreboard. They were back and forth before Macedo moved into the top ten on the seventh lap.

On lap 8, the red flag stopped the action for Travis Arenz #25T who clipped an infield tractor tire on the inside of turn one and flipped over the next one directly in front of the leaders, David Gravel and Buddy Kofoid, at the front of the pack. Arenz was ok but his night was over.

The green flag was back out. David Gravel raced back up to speed in front of Kofoid, Miller, Williamson, and Sheldon Haudenschild who was working his way back to the front after falling back to seventh. Carson gained another position on the restart to move into the ninth spot moving by 10-time WoO champion Donny Schatz. Chris Windom though had snuck by both on the restart, but on lap 12 Carson passed the driver of the Sides Motorsports #7s back to take over 8th place.

With David Gravel still leading Kofoid and Williamson, the red flag came back out on lap 15 for Will Gerrits #8 from Waupun, Wisconsin who flipped in turn one. Gerrits was able to roll his car into the work area and rejoin the field for the restart.

The driver of the Big Game Motorsports #2 was back on the gas with the Roth Motorsports #83 and Fischer Motorsports #23 right behind. Cole Macedo worked his way back in front of Sheldon Haudenschild to regain the fourth spot with Carson now running in seventh place aboard the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41.

Carson was up on the wheel as he muscled his way by both Kasey Jedrzejek and Joe B. Miller with Sheldon Haudenschild and Cole Macedo just ahead now as he could see them through his rock screen. He continued his valiant run forward and was making up a little ground on the drivers in front of him lap after lap as he closed in on his next targets.

On lap 22, the yellow flag thwarted his forward progress as Will Armitage #7A slowed on the front straightaway eventually crawling to a stop on the racing surface. David Gravel was still out front with 13 laps to go with Buddy Kofoid hounding him and Garet Williamson not too far behind hoping for an opportunity to race for the win.

The green flag was back out with Gravel leading Kofoid, Williamson, Haudenschild, and Joe B. Miller who had a great restart and moved by both Macedo brothers. Cole was now running sixth with Carson in seventh. They both would get back by Miller to move up one spot each in the running order.

Up front things were heating up again as Buddy Kofoid moved by Gravel for the race lead on lap 25. The next time around through Gravel wrestled the top spot back away from Kofoid with Williamson and Haudenschild just behind watching the two talented racers exchange the lead. Two laps later, on lap 28, Gravel swooped into turn three hard and caught a rut sending him into the outside retaining wall in turn four to bring out the caution with seven laps to go. His racecar had too much rear end damage, and his night of competing was unfortunately over after leading 25 of the 28 laps.

Buddy Kofoid would lead the field back to the flagstand as they went back racing with Sheldon Haudenschild working the bottom side of the track to move into the runner-up position ahead of Garet Williamson and Cole Macedo with Carson Macedo now running in the last position in the coveted top five.

The Penngrove, California driver behind the wheel of the Mobil 1/Toyota Racing #83 had his hands full now with Sheldon Haudenschild’s NOS Energy Drink/Aspen Aire #18 who was fast. With five laps remaining, Sheldon Haudenschild manhandled the lead away from Kofoid with Williamson and both Macedo boys right behind.

The Wooster, Ohio native raced to the Cheese Town Showdown win over Buddy Kofoid with Garet Williamson completing the podium. Cole Macedo raced across the finish line fourth with Carson collecting a top five finish, his 15th top five in 27 races so far this season – a 55.56% success rate. He passed 11 cars throughout the A-Main to earn his sixth KSE Hard Charger honor this season. Another good run for Macedo and the forty-one!

With two of the three races scheduled this weekend now recorded in history it was time for Carson and the JJR #41 team to move to Angell Park Speedway for some Sunday night racing in the Ted Johnson Memorial Race meticulously planned and scheduled by SLS Promotions. This historic track delivers action that creates memories so if your plans do not take you to Angell Park Speedway be sure to catch all the action on DIRTVision. #TedJohnsonMemorial
