JASON AND THE STENHOUSE JR. RACING TEAM FALL JUST SHORT OF FIELD AFTER 4TH PLACE FINISH IN B-MAIN AT 27TH ANNUAL SHORT TRACK NATIONALS

LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS (October 25, 2014) – The 27th Annual Short Track Nationals is truly a war made up of many important battles. It is one of the toughest events in the country to qualify for and if you miss your mark just a little bit it is very hard to get back on track. Everything needs to go your way as a team in order to seize the day and a position within the 22 car starting field. On Saturday night, there were 67 cars in the pit area fighting to secure one of the remaining 16 spots in the field as the top three from both the qualifying nights were already locked in.

Jason and the Stenhouse Jr. Racing team had The Shop Diesel Service/Kinsler Fuel Injection #41 Maxim ready to get back at it. Their first opportunity was in their Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ). They were scheduled to start third in the eighth 10 lap LCQ. The track had proven to be tough to pass on, but it was the same for everyone who took to the high banks at I-30 Speedway. When the green flag waved the two cars on the front row, Cody Gardner and Kevin Swindell, brought the field screaming down the frontstretch. Jason was following close behind and when he got the chance he made the pass on Gardner for the runner-up spot. He would hold that position as he followed Swindell across the finish line.

When all of the passing points were recalculated, and the C-Main and B-Main lineups were set, the Rocky Mount, Missouri resident would line up on the inside of row three in the third of three 12 lap B-Main events with the first two finishers from each making it to the big show. With a challenging racing surface, passing was going to be at a premium. Not deterred, Jason pulled on his Shell Shock custom painted Arai Helmet and prepared himself for the battle in the AccuDoc Solutions/CURB Records Maxim. If he wanted to make it to the STN war, he needed to finish in one of the top two finishing positions. When the green lights illuminated around the speedway, he was doing everything possible from his ButlerBuilt Professional Seats System to maneuver through the field to get up into one of those positions. Unfortunately, he was only able to advance one position to finish fourth bringing an earlier end to his 2014 STN experience than he would have liked. But, the team will regroup and ready themselves and their equipment to make a strong run at finishing off the 2014 season as they head west to El Paso, Texas and Las Cruces, New Mexico in a few weeks for more ASCS National Tour action.
