MID-WEEK BASH AT BAPS: CRANKING IT UP IN THE KEYSTONE STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA IN THE 4TH ANNUAL BRICKER’S BASH AT BAPS MOTOR SPEEDWAY RESULTS IN A FOURTH PLACE FINISH FOR MACEDO AND THE JJR #41 GANG

YORK HAVEN, PENNSYLVANIA (July 29, 2026) – The busy month of racing through July for Carson Macedo and the NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series competition is quickly approaching the end with two more races scheduled this month. Both of those remaining events will take place in Pennsylvania with the first stop in York Haven at BAPS Motor Speedway for the 4th Annual Bricker’s Bash. This 4/10-mile, red clay oval is racy, technical, and slick requiring the setup and driver execution to both be on point. Oh, and it also helps to have just a little Lady Luck on your side when drawing a number for time trials. The lower the number the better most of the time but the deep red clay surface was still holding onto the moisture Mother Nature delivered on Tuesday in the area. Philip Dietz (Owner and Crew Chief), Robby McQuinn (Car Chief), and Adam Zimmerman (Tire Specialists and Truck Driver Extraordinaire) unloaded the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 in preparation for the Wednesday night’s show against the always formidable PA Posse. After rained doused the area hard on Tuesday, the track crew went to work to knead the track into shape for the big event. With the sun shining bright, there were 32 stout 410 sprint car teams signed into the pit area all vying for the winner’s share of the purse and the event trophy at the end of the night. Everyone was ready to get this party started in Pennsylvania pitting the best the World of Outlaws (WoO) traveling tour has to offer against the talent homegrown field of local stars that call these tracks home every week in Central Pennsylvania!

As the fans mingled around to find their seats enjoying those delicious Bricker’s French Fries, the drivers began to climb into their speed machines for Race//Ready Hot Laps. Each group would get two or three laps out on the track to assess their initial setups before the official competition commenced in Honest Abe Roofing Qualifying. The drawing for the number reference above occurred during the Eloy Gutierrez Pill Draw earlier in the evening. Each team drew a number as the World of Outlaws Timing and Scoring officials arranged them from lowest to highest to set the time trial order. After pulling the ‘5’ pill, Carson would be the second driver out on the track for his two timed laps around BAPS Motor Speedway in the Winters Performance Products/Boltz Family/Wilwood Racing #41 Maxim. It was two-car qualifying so Carson would be out on the track with the nation’s leading feature winner Chase Dietz in the Stehman Motorsports #23. Carson knew he needed to take advantage of this opportunity to make speed on the moist red clay. He accelerated onto the track at the entry off turn two and he built up his speed heading towards the flagstand on the front straightaway. When he arrived, the green flag waved and the numbers on the stopwatch started to move in full motion. When the numbers stopped at the end of Carson’s first lap they read 14.259 seconds. Simultaneously, new numbers activated on the clock to measure his performance during lap two. Carson stayed on the gas and made his best effort to hit his marks. This time the numbers on the stopwatch reported 14.113 seconds back. The quicker of his two laps ended up being the fastest overall on the night to earn him his first Simpson Quick Time Award of the season.

The World of Outlaws (WoO) officials quickly consolidated the starting lineups for the four qualifying races based on each driver’s best time trial lap. Carson would get the Bandy & Associates/All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Schoenfeld Headers #41 Maxim going from the pole position in NOS Energy Drink Heat Race #1. He pulled the black and green forty-one to the inside of Bill Balog #17B on the front row rolling in front of row two starters Buddy Kofoid #83 and Skylar Gee #16c. Cole Macedo in the TwoCRacing/Outlaw Wings #2c and Ryan Newton #66 were together in row three leading the drivers in row four, Conner Morrell #28M and Dylan Cisney #6.

Eight laps. Five transfer spots. Pure adrenaline unleashed. The initial green flag came out but was called off rapidly when the yellow flag flew for debris on the track over in turn one. The ‘get after it’ flag was back out again with Carson assuming ownership of the top spot through turn one. Bill Balog entered fast on the high side of the speedway getting up over the cushion resulting in him flipping in turn two. The red flag was out, and the driver was ok.

That moved fellow Californian, Buddy Kofoid, to the outside of the front row with everyone behind moving up one starting spot for a complete restart. When they went back racing Macedo and Kofoid were side by side down the front straightaway with Carson sliding up into the lead coming off turn two. He led the opening lap with Kofoid and Newton trying to stay close.

Carson used his Kistler Engines Ford Racing power to extend his advantage with each completed lap of the Roth Motorsports/Toyota Racing #83. He was the first driver to the finish line crossing it 1.271 seconds ahead of Buddy Kofoid with Ryan Newton racing across in third place. Skylar Gee finished fourth with Cole Macedo securing the fifth and final transfer position out of this race.

Carson was the first driver to stick his mitt into the oversized NOS Energy Drink Can to draw for his starting position in the six lap Toyota Dash. When he pulled his hand out he was holding the number six disc which positioned him on the outside of row three with Chase Dietz #23D to his inside. Sheldon Haudenschild #18 was on the pole with David Gravel #2 to his outside. Behind them in row two were Garet Williamson #23 and Logan Rumsey #71 with Lance Dewease #8 and Buddy Kofoid #83 in row four. Before the cars even lined up, Logan Rumsey’s motor would not fire so he headed back to the pit area and would be scored in eighth place. When the initial green flag did wave, it was quickly replaced by the red flag when the polesitter entered low in turn one and drifted up across the track getting over the cushion and flipping.

When they went back to green flag racing, David Gravel powered his way into the lead followed by Chase Dietz, Garet Williamson, and Buddy Kofoid who all accelerated around the top to gain their spots. Carson moved into the fifth position behind Kofoid and began exploring different lines. David Gravel eventually took the Dash victory over Dietz and Williamson with Kofoid finishing fourth. Carson raced home with a fifth place finish as Lance Dewease, Sheldon Haudenschild, and Logan Rumsey completed the finishing order.

With the qualifying action complete, the air horn sounded throughout the pit area for the 30-lap, 4th Annual Bricker’s Bash A-Main feature. With one driver, Logan Schuchart in the Shark Racing/Mark Martin Motors #1s, electing to use provisional starting spot, the starting grid expanded to 25 with the two-time and defending World of Outlaws champion David Gravel #2 and Chase Dietz #23D leading the field from the front row after finishing up front in the Toyota Dash. Rolling behind them were Garet Williamson #23 and Buddy Kofoid #83 in row two with Carson Macedo #41 and Lance Dewease #8 side nerf bar to side nerf bar in row three. Making up row four was Sheldon Haudenschild #18 and Logan Rumsey #71 with Ryan Newton #66 and Anthony Macri #39M directly behind in row five.

Rolling around BAPS Motor Speedway, Carson began to contemplate his green flag strategy. He knew he had some work to do in the Albaugh – Your Alternative/T-Fab Custom Metal Fabrication/Jansen Transportation #41 Maxim but was up for the task at hand. Peering out of the shield of his Bell Helmet with his game face on the yellow lights turned off around the track.

The green flag was out with Chase Dietz driving around the outside of David Gravel on the opening lap to seize the top spot on lap one. Carson ran in fifth place sandwiched between Garet Williamson and Lance Dewease. The track surface was tacky and still extremely fast, but there were multiple lanes to race around on.

Carson continued to pressure Williamson for the fourth spot and on lap five he made his way underneath him through the last set of turns. Williamson reclaimed the lowered number position the next time the circled BAPS driving around the topside of turns one and two. The two talented drivers continued to go after each other for fourth place when the yellow flag displayed for Cameron Smith in the Shark Racing/Moxzy #1a.

Chase Dietz led the field back up to speed followed by Gravel and Kofoid with Williamson and Macedo again embroiled in a clean battle for position. Sheldon Haudenschild entered the mix as he showed his nose down low and then up high searching for a way around both to no avail.

On lap 18, Carson finally was able to work by Williamson to take over the fourth spot on the scoreboard and began closing in on the top three. Three laps later Sheldon Haudenschild moved into the top five as he drove past the always fast Williamson too.

With five laps to go, the leaders were all in traffic. The top five were all within striking distance of each other. The outcome was still unknown at this late stage of the race. Chase Dietz claimed the victory for the local PA Posse with Buddy Kofoid coming home in second place after passing David Gravel late. Gravel settled for third with Carson coming home fourth and Sheldon Haudenschild doing a fantastic job recovery from near disaster earlier in the evening to finish fifth. Another consistent and good run for Carson Macedo and the forty-one!

The red dirt began settling back to earth after an eventful night at BAPS Motor Speedway as the attention quickly shifted to the two-day C&D Rigging Summer Nationals at Williams Grove Speedway.
