TESTING THE LIMITS ON TUESDAY: A SURPRISE VISIT TO EAGLE RACEWAY FOR CARSON MACEDO AND THE ALBAUGH – YOUR ALTERNATIVE #41 TEAM UNPACKS A TOP FIVE RUN WITH THE HIGH LIMIT RACING SERIES IN THE SPEEDWAY MOTORS SPRING JACKPOT EVENT

EAGLE, NEBRASKA (April 21, 2026) – With the warm temperatures and the sun shining bright in the sky overhead throughout the Midwest, the Jason Johnson Racing (JJR) team got the itch to go racing on Tuesday night. The Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing Series was putting on a show at Eagle Raceway with live coverage on Fox Sports 1 (FS1). So why not? That is exactly what Carson and the boys thought when they made the decision to truck Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT) style to Nebraska to scratch that itch. There were 39 cars ready to compete for the winner’s share of the purse in the Speedway Motors Spring Jackpot event that is part of the High Limit Roto-Rooter Midweek Series.

Following Dirt Draft Hot Laps, it was time for Carson and his speed demon friends to push out for their time trial laps in Capital Custom Trailer Qualifying. There were two separate groups, Qualifying Flight A and Qualifying Flight B, with the field split in half. Carson would be the 16th driver out on the track in Qualifying Flight A aboard the Albaugh – Your Alternative/Border International/Winters Performance Products #41 Maxim. After Tanner Thorson #88 finished his speed effort in the Smith TI #88, Carson pushed onto the track using a Ford Performance power plant prepared by Kistler Engines for the first time this season. Carson stood on the gas and turned his first qualifying lap in 11.563 seconds. He kept his right K1 Race Gear boot buried in the accelerator the next time around completing his final lap in 11.666 seconds. His first lap was good enough for 4th quick overall in Qualifying Flight A with Aaron Reutzel #87 sitting at the top of the speed charts in that group with a lap of 11.381 seconds. The fastest driver in Qualifying Flight B, and quickest speedster overall in both sessions for the night, was Corey Day in the Jason Meyers Racing (JMR) #14 with a lap of 11.375 seconds.

The lineups for the four 8-lap Heat Races posted and Carson would find the Albaugh #41 listed in the pole position in Diversified Machines DMI Heat Race #2 with Brenham Crouch #5 pacing to his outside on the front row. Hank Davis #17GP and Kerry Madsen #55 were in row two followed by Chris Martin #44 and Gage Pulkrabek #G5 in row three. Rolling together in row four were Kaleb Johnson #22K and Austin McCarl #88W with Koby Werkmeister #31 and Dominic White #11D looking ahead from row five.

With the sun illuminating turns one and two and shadows covering turns three and four the green flag waved high overhead with Carson jumping into the early race leader from the inside of the front row with Brenham Crouch just behind his rear nerf bar entering turn one. The Lemoore, California native was digging with each completed lap and began to put some more distance between himself and the driver in the runner-up position. Carson appeared to be on cruise control out front, but that was not the case as he had his elbows up and was working hard each lap. He led the Heat Race from the drop of the green flag to waving of the checkered flag to take the win by 2.674 seconds ahead of Brenham Crouch in the CJB #5. Kerry Madsen race home third with Hank Davis and Gage Pulkrabek locking down the fourth and fifth positions to earn transfers to the A-Main.

The eight drivers that were eligible for the FK Rod Ends Dash headed to the High Limit Command Center for the redraw. When all the numbers were arranged from lowest to highest based on their results, the starting lineup for the 7-lap Dash found Rico Abreu #24 and Aaron Reutzel #87 on the front row with Brad Sweet #94 and Carson Macedo in the Durst/Pro Powder Coating (PPC)/KSE Racing Products #41 Maxim beside each other in row two. Kerry Madsen #55 and Ryan Timms #10 were wheel-to-wheel in row three with Corey Day #14 and Logan Seavey #87X paired up in row four. These drivers were racing for their starting positions in the A-Main. Where they finished would be where they would start the Speedway Motors Spring Jackpot feature. The green lights turned on and the action was up to speed quickly with Aaron Reutzel racing out front followed by Brad Sweet and Carson Macedo. Polesitter Rico Abreu dropped back to sixth place early in the race. Aaron Reutzel was cutting through the clean air with Carson closing in on second running Brad Sweet with the laps winding down. He could not get there and would finish third behind Reutzel and Sweet with Kerry Madsen coming home fourth. Corey Day hustled up to fifth with Abreu, Seavey, and Timms completing the finishing order in the Dash.

Carson would begin his race for the big check from the third starting spot in the 30-Lap High Limit Interstate Batteries $12,000-to-Win Roto-Rooter Midweek Series Speedway Motors Spring Jackpot event. He pulled to the inside of Kerry Madsen’s black and red #55 as they paced behind front row starters Aaron Reutzel and Brad Sweet. The grandstands packed with avid sprint car racing fans. The field of cars filled with talented racers. The red recording light on the FS1 cameras were lit. It was time to go racing at Eagle Raceway in the Speedway Motors Spring Jackpot race!

When the green flag waved it did not take long for the action to heat up in the Cornhusker State of Nebraska with polesitter Aaron Reutzel sliding high and Carson Macedo using the low line to duck underneath both Reutzel and Brad Sweet to lead lap one. Brad Sweet was pedaling down and drove around the top to steal the lead from Carson Macedo the next time by the flagstand with Aaron Reutzel, Corey Day, and Kerry Madsen running in the top five. What a race and it was only two laps in with 28 laps to go.

On lap 4, the first caution of the night occurred when Tanner Holmes #13 and Gage Pulkrabek #G5 tangled in turn four. Brad Sweet led them field back up to speed. Carson attempted a wicked slider as he moved up across turn one to the top side of turn two bouncing off the cushion as Brad Sweet turned under him to maintain the lead.

The exciting action continued out on the track before the second caution of the night came out for Chris Martin #44 who spun around in turn four to slow the action again on lap 6. Brad Sweet would again accelerate up to speed with Carson trying another intense slider. His attempt ended with him getting up and over the cushion in turn two plowing into the outside wall falling back to seventh place when he crossed the scoring line the next time. What an unbelievable save . . . and the fact there was no damage was equally amazing. The yellow flag flew again though for the third time of the night for Logan Seavey #87X who slowed on the track.

Back to green flag racing, Brad Sweet maintained the lead, but Corey Day was on the move breathing down the leader’s neck for the top spot. Corey Day assumed the lead on the eighth circuit followed by Brad Sweet and Tanner Thorson with Carson Macedo doing an impressive job recovering and now racing in fourth place with Rico Abreu right behind him in the fifth position.

On lap 12, the red flag brought the cars to a complete stop when Daison Pursley #9 and Tanner Holmes #13 both flipped in turn one. It would be Day, Sweet, Thorson, Macedo, and Abreu up front and ready to get back at it again at Eagle Raceway. Corey Day raced out front with Sweet giving chase. Carson was battling Tanner Thorsen for the show position. Carson would get it, then Thorson would wrestle it back finally claiming it. Exciting action.

At the halfway point of the race, it was Corey Day still out front followed by Sweet, Thorson, Macedo, and Abreu. The yellow flag was back out again this time for ninth place running Kerry Madsen #55 who spun to a stop with a flat left front tire off turn two. These drivers would get back at it yet again and recorded four more laps before a complete race stoppage halted the action under red flag conditions when Garet Williamson #23 flipped in turn two.

With 11 laps to go everyone’s heart was pumping a little harder than usual as the drivers and the fans needed a brief respite to calm themselves down as this action was insanely good. Corey Day hustled out front with Brad Sweet racing in his tracks. Carson moved back into third with Rico Abreu and Tanner Thorson battling right behind him. Thorson was working the low line expertly and moved by both Abreu and Macedo to retake the show position at the end of the next lap.

On lap 22, Gage Pulkrabek brought out another caution when he spun into the infield off turn two as the cars slowed one more time. It was time to get back up to speed again with Day leading Sweet and Thorson. Carson was running fourth trying his best to fend off Giovanni Scelzi for the position.

The leader took the white flag and was on his way down the back straightaway when the red flag flew for Chris Martin when his car bicycled on his right front tire flipping into Aaron Reutzel who spun to bring out the caution moments before in turn four.

It would be a green-white-checkered race to the finish. Corey Day sealed the deal crossing the finish line first ahead of Brad Sweet with Tanner Thorson gaining the third step of the podium. Carson Macedo had a great night filled with speed and excitement as he finished fourth with Giovanni Scelzi completing the top five. Four Californians and a talented star from Nevada all finishing in the top five in the High Limit race at Eagle Raceway. What a race it was in Nebraska. And another good run for the forty-one!
