DUSTING UP IN NEW JERSEY: WHEELING AND DEALING UNDER THE LIGHTS ON THE EAST COAST AT THE NEW EGYPT SHOWDOWN RESULTS IN 11TH WoO WIN FOR CARSON MACEDO AND THE ALBAUGH – YOUR ALTERNATIVE #41 TEAM

NEW EGYPT, NEW JERSEY (October 10, 2025) – The traveling crew with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Series arrived in New Jersey on Friday night ready to show off their product. It would be the first visit this season to the Garden State for these high-speed entertainers as the series season enters the final stretch of races. The traveling stars were here for the New Egypt Showdown and were ready to wheel and deal World of Outlaws style! Carson Macedo along with Philip Dietz, Adam Zimmerman, and Robby McQuinn were eager and ready to compete again at a prominent level under the lights on Friday night in Plumsted Township, Ocean County. This is a neat, small rural area with a small town appeal. It is also home to New Egypt Speedway – Thunder in the Pines, a flat D-shaped 4/10-mile dirt oval that delivers on point action that keeps the fans on the edge of their seats as the drivers find their lines on the technical surface to make speed. The fans in the grandstands were prepared to be treated to unrivaled grassroots racing action as the WoO speed show was in town. There were 28 beautifully prepared sprint cars pitted and ready to participate in World of Outlaw NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series competition to kick off the weekend starting with the New Egypt Showdown! The USAC East Coast Sprint Cars joined the traveling series on the evening’s showcard looking to impress, too.

The first opportunity the drivers got to show off their sponsors and colorful hotrods was in Honest Abe Roofing Qualifying. The time trial order for qualifying was set based on the numbered pill each driver/team drew during the Eloy Gutierrez Pill Draw. When the final order posted, Carson was set to be the fifth driver out on the track for his two time trial laps around New Egypt Speedway. He sat up in his seat as the Kistler Engines power came to life and rumbled under his Prime Composite Innovations carbon fiber hood. He was ready to race against time. When Carson exited turn four, he clawed his way towards the green flag and was now officially on the clock. He was up on the wheel in the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 as he hit his marks and mashed the gas. When he tripped the timing light to end his first lap, the stopwatch read 14.132 seconds. Carson continued his way around New Egypt one last time trying to improve during his lap time. This time the flagman waved the checkered flag when he raced down the front straightaway to end his session. The second attempt at speed came in 14.260 seconds. The quicker of his two timed laps ended up being second quick in the Winters Performance Products/Factory Kahne Shocks/ISC Racers Tape #41 Maxim. Sitting at the top of the speed charts at the conclusion of time trials though was David Gravel in the Big Game Motorsports #2 who turned in the only sub-14 second lap at 13.925 seconds to earn the Simpson Quick Time Award.

After a slight break in the action the starting lineups for the three 8-lap Heat races finalized and posted. Based on his best lap in time trials, Carson was set to start from the pole position in Real American Beer Heat Race #2 aboard the Scott Boyd Family/Schoenfeld Headers/Pro Powder Coating (PPC) #41. He rolled up alongside the Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) #15s with Kerry Madsen behind the wheel as they paced in front of Michael “Buddy” Kofoid #83 and Skylar Gee #99 in row two. Chris Windom #7s and Garet Williamson were together in row three with Donny Schatz #15 and Steven Snyder Jr. #27H in row four. Kyle Spence #00K was alone in row five ready to stomp on the gas.

There were six transfer positions available that guaranteed those drivers a spot in the A-Main, but the drivers in each Heat race would need to earn them with a stout field of competitors all trying to do the same at this unique track. The field was set and ready to go. Carson used his spot in the catbird seat to power up to speed as he initiated the action when he reached the temporary chalk strip laid down across the dirt in turn four.

Carson led the opening lap with Kerry Madsen, Buddy Kofoid, and Skylar Gee in tow. Garet Williamson and Chris Windom rounded out the top six during the initial stages of the qualifying race.

On lap two though Garet Williamson got sideways and flipped in turn two collecting Donny Schatz who was forced to spin to try to avoid heavy contact. The yellow flag was out with Schatz rejoining the field sans a front wing after some time in the work area.

Carson was back on the gas when the green flag came back out with Kofoid using the restart to drive by Madsen into the runner-up position. Chris Windom moved up to fourth behind Madsen with Snyder Jr. racing by Gee for the fifth spot. Those two racers would swap the fifth and sixth positions quite a few times before Skylar Gee secured it.

Carson was on a mission as he ultimately was the first competitor to cross the finish line leading the Real American Beer Heat Race #2 from start-to-finish. Buddy Kofoid followed him under the checkers with Kerry Madsen racing home in third place. Coming home fourth was Chris Windom with Skylar Gee crossing the line fifth as Steven Snyder Jr. locked down the sixth and final transfer spot. Those six drivers advanced out of the third Heat race with Carson Macedo and Buddy Kofoid earning starting spots in the Toyota Dash.

The six drivers who earned spots in the 6-lap Toyota Dash pulled a pill for their starting spots at the World of Outlaws Command Center located in the pit area. When all the numbers were drawn it would be Logan Schuchart in the Shark Racing #1s on the pole with Carson Macedo in the Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT) #41 to his outside. Buddy Kofoid in the Roth Motorsports #83 and Cole Macedo in the TwoC Racing #2c partnered up in row two with Anthony Macri #39 in his first race back on the inside of row three with David Gravel #2 to his outside. Two (2) Pennsylvanians, three (3) Californians, and one (1) talented racer from Connecticut were set to go. The green flag waved, Logan Schuchart dropped his right foot and drove off into the lead with Carson tucking in behind in all-out chase mode as he was on the move in the forty-one. The driver of the Shark Racing #1s was using the clean air and clear track ahead of him to show off his “Scruffy” speed to honor his late grandfather who passed last weekend. Schuchart would lead the entire Dash taking the win by 2.123 seconds over Carson Macedo as those two would be on the front row for the upcoming feature event. David Gravel raced home third with Cole Macedo, Buddy Kofoid, and Anthony Macri completing the finishing order.

With the sun already down to the west and the temperatures dropping making it cool in Jersey, the air horn sounded alerting the teams and drivers to head trackside to stage for the 30-lap, $12,000-to-win New Egypt Showdown feature event. The starters in the first three rows all earned the right to start from those positions based off where they finished in the Toyota Dash. That put Logan Schuchart in the Shark Racing/Drydene #1s on the pole with Carson Macedo in the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 sitting to his outside on the front row with a pair of deuces in the second row – David Gravel in the Big Game Motorsports #2 and Cole Macedo in the TwoC Racing #2c. Buddy Kofoid in the Mobil 1/Toyota #83 and Anthony Macri in the Macri Motorsports #39M together in row three. Sheldon Haudenschild in the NOS Energy Drink #17 and Kerry Madsen in the Advance Auto Parts #15s were side-by-side in row four.

Carson flipped the shield down on his Bell Helmet and was ready to have a little fun in the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41. After the traditional four-wide salute to acknowledge the incredible fans that packed the grandstands here in New Jersey, it was ‘go-time’ at New Egypt Speedway. When the green flag came out, Logan Schuchart and Carson Macedo drag raced down the front stretch. They were side-by-side entering turn one with Carson taking the Albaugh #41 to the extreme high side hoping to punch a hole in the air and race off turn two with the lead. That’s exactly what happened as the driver of the forty-one inched ahead out of the first set of corners and led the opening lap with Schuchart, Gravel, and Cole Macedo trucking behind.

Carson’s number 41 illuminated on the scoreboard in the top spot as he was running in the lead on lap two when the yellow flag displayed for Donny Schatz who spun in turn four. It would be Carson Macedo and Logan Schuchart side-by-side again for the restart with the California driver selecting the inside lane for the double-file restart.

When the green lights turned back on around the track, Carson powered off the bottom lane to claim the lead again with Schuchart looking to the bottom through turns one and two hoping to find some grip that would propel hum by the leader. Carson led lap 3 and was now using that same clean air and clear track Schuchart had in the Dash to set the pace as he was already a second ahead of the Shark Racing #1s.

The action was slowed for the second time with three laps in the books, this time for Anthony Macri who got sideways but kept going with four cars getting together behind him. Bill Balog, Kerry Madsen, Donny Schatz, and Buddy Schweibinz tangled up behind with all four able to rejoin the field after some time in the work area.

The green flag was waving again in the wind with Carson leading Schuchart, Gravel, Kofoid, and Haudenschild back up to speed with 27 laps to go. Carson had a fast race car and was making tracks. He was fast and that meant it did not take long for him to catch the back of the field. The racing lanes were narrow and unforgiving. This would be a challenge as Schuchart and Gravel would right behind hoping for the leader to make a wrong decision.

By the beginning of lap 9, Carson already was in navigation mode starting to work his way meticulous and carefully around the slower traffic. Patience was a virtue, and so was a disciplined approach. The Lemoore, California born racer was doing a fantastic job balancing both and with 10 laps to go was still out in front mired in traffic.

Logan Schuchart was closing as he too was doing his job moving by lapped cars. Then with 5 laps to go, the last caution of the race occurred for Chris Windom who spun in turn four in the Sides Motorsports #7s. The restart would be in single file order when they went back to green with Carson leading Schuchart, Gravel, Kofoid, and Haudenschild back up to speed.

The key was hit your marks without spinning your tires or getting out of the racing grooves. Carson did a masterful job piloting the JJR #41 throughout the remaining laps to collect his eleventh World of Outlaws (WoO) win of the season, twelfth overall including his High Limit win at Lernerville back in July. He crossed the finish line ahead of Logan Schuchart and David Gravel who all earned spots on the podium. Buddy Kofoid raced home fourth with Sheldon Haudenschild crossing the finish line in fifth.

After celebrating on top of the wing with confetti falling, Carson made his way around the front of his car sitting in Victory Lane to meet with Conner Wade. The smiling speedster from California began by stating. “Hats off to JJR (Jason Johnson Racing), they did a great job.” He then explained the two most critical parts of his wining run, “Traffic was tough. I knew the start was going to be critical, and I kind of just sent it up there as hard as I could up top, and it worked out. I stuck and was able to get around Logan. I knew that he was all over me I traffic. I could hear him and saw him the one time getting into turn three. There just wasn’t really a lot I could do.”

He continued, “I just wanted to make sure I kept my momentum up, kept my speed up and didn’t let anybody beat me down into three, and it worked out. I was a little nervous there at the end because the rubber was laying down there in three and four on the bottom. It was really clean down there and grippy. In one and two, I felt like I was better higher.” Carson concluded his comments by focusing on his team. He restated, “Hats off to JJR. Philip Dietz did an incredible job all night, made the right adjustments. Adam Zimmerman and Robby McQuinn worked their tails off.” Another great run for Carson Macedo and the forty-one as the team collected overall win number 12 (82nd Overall World of Outlaws win for JJR) for the season and Carson bagged his 58thcareer WoO victory.
