WINNING WEDNESDAY IN MINNESOTA: CARSON MACEDO LEADS THE FINAL 19 LAPS TO COLLECT THE FENDT SHOWDOWN TROPHY AT THE JACKSON MOTORPLEX WHILE RECORDING JJR’S 75TH WORLD OF OUTLAWS VICTORY

JACKSON, MINNESOTA (June 4, 2025) – After a consistent weekend of action in North Dakota, Carson Macedo and the Jason Johnson Racing (JJR) #41 Sprint Car Team made their way to Minnesota on Wednesday night for a little midweek fun and competition at the Jackson Motorplex for the FENDT Showdown. This beautiful four-tenth mile oval is situated on the Jackson County Fairgrounds and is picturesque with the siloes, water tower, and surrounding cornfields as the backdrop to this incredible racing facility. Take that scenery and add 42 colorful 410 sprint cars featuring sponsors, and it represents a match made in heaven for the fans of the sport. The skies overhead were a brilliant blue and the sun adding to the perfect scene, it was time to go racing at the Jackson Motorplex – World of Outlaws style!

The first order of business after hot laps for all the competitors is Honest Abe Roofing Qualifying. They each would get two laps at speed with the clock measuring their performance against one another. The order they would go out in each group was determined earlier in the evening at the World of Outlaws Technical Trailer in the Eloy Gutierrez Pill Draw that honors the long-time hero that we lost too soon. Carson Macedo, driving the High Performance Lubricants/Team Jack Foundation/Motor State Distributing #41 Maxim entry, would be the tenth driver to fire off in the staging area in Flight 2. With his powerplant rumbling with excitement under the Prime Composite Innovations carbon fiber hood, Carson lowered his right K1 Race Gear boot and was quickly up to speed as he headed towards the flagstand. He raced through the timing light to start the first of two laps. He powered through the first set of turns and down the back straightaway before making quick work of turns three and four. When he crossed the line, the clock stopped and read 12.827 seconds. Carson though still had work to do as he had one more lap to see if he could improve his time. By the looks of it he was making suitable time, but only the stopwatch would tell if that was accurate. He was digging hard off turn four before crossing under the checkered flag to end his time trial session with a time of 12.806 seconds on lap two. The faster of his two attempts ended the night fourth quick overall in Flight 2 with Bill Balog #17B topping the charts in that group. David Gravel turned in the quickest lap of the night to earn the Simpson Quick Time Award at the Jackson Motorplex chauffeuring the Big Game Motorsports #2 with an impressive lap of 12.338 seconds to establish a New Track Record (NTR).

While time trials start the show, the entertainment had yet to begin in earnest until the drivers slated to start in the first of four 8-lap Heat races rolled out onto the track. The top five finishers in each qualifying race would earn automatic transfer spots into the feature later in the show with the winner and runner-up advancing to the Dash. Carson’s journey in the Complete Parts & Equipment Solutions/BMRS/Pro Powder Coating #41 world begin from the second starting spot in The Greatest Store on Dirt Heat #4. He would start alongside polesitter Kelby Watt #1K. Logan Schuchart #1s and Cole Macedo #2c lined up in row two with Hunter Schuerenberg #55 and Landon Crawley #45X behind in row three. Row four found Jy Corbett #25 and Brady Bacon #21H with Scott Winters #23W and Skylar Prochaska #35 in row five.

The field was set. The yellow lights around the track turned off. Off turn for the drivers made the engines roar with Kelby Watt getting them started with Carson taking the lead through the first set of turns before the yellow flag came out. The caution was for Watt as race officials determined he started before the chalk stripe penalizing him two starting spots.

That moved Carson to the pole with Logan Schuchart to his outside of the front row. They were even when they crossed the line with Carson driving to the front. Schuchart got up over the cushion allowing Watt and Schuerenberg an opportunity to move by for the position.

The yellow flag was back out for Scott Winters who rejoined the field. Carson drove the Albaugh – Your Alternative #41 back into the lead ahead of Watt with Schuchart driving his Shark Racing #1s back by Schuerenberg for third.

Carson’s Hoosier Racing Tires were gripping the tacky surface to give him drive as he was making speed. He continued to extend his lead and cross the finish line to capture the win 2.225 seconds ahead of second running Kelby Watt. Those two drivers would advance to the Dash out of this Heat race with Logan Schuchart coming home third, Hunter Schuerenberg fourth, and Cole Macedo locking down the fifth and final transfer position in the TwoC Racing entry.

The winners of the heat races along with the runner-up finishers made their way to the front straightaway to draw for their starting spot in the 6-lap Toyota Dash. Luck was on Kerry Madsen’s side as he drew the one pill to gain the SPA Technique #1 Redraw Award in the TK Concrete/Elite Installations #55V with Carson Macedo starting to his outside in the Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT)/ISC Racers Tape/Winters Performance Products #41. David Gravel #2 would start third and be in row two with Kelby Watt #1K fourth. Michael Kofoid #83 and Justin Henderson #83H would be in row three with the duo of Bill Balog #17B and Chris Windom #7s in row four. The drivers were racing for their starting spots in the A-Main. Where they finished the Dash is where they would start the feature. The green flag was out with Madsen quickly taking the lead getting the clean jump off the bottom. Carson tucked into the runner-up position as Kelby Watt darted under Gravel for third in turn one. Kerry Madsen was fast and led wire-to-wire to take the win with Carson coming home second. Kelby Watt finished third with David Gravel and Michael Kofoid rounding out the top five. Bill Balog came home sixth with Chris Windom and Justin Henderson completing the Dash finishing order.

The twenty-four car field of speed stars were locked in and ready to go for the upcoming 30-lap FENDT Showdown at the Jackson Motorplex. Kerry Madsen #55V and Carson Macedo #41 would start on the front row and pace the field before leading them to the green flag when given the signal. Before that though the field of cars would spread out to salute the great fans in the stands and those tuning in to catch all the action on DIRTVision with the famous four-wide salute. What a great tradition that allows the drivers and series to tip their hat to the loyal fans in attendance.

Carson buckled into the Albaugh – Your Alternative/C&R Racing/FK Rod Ends #41 Maxim focused and prepared for his high-speed adventure around the Jackson Motorplex. He has had quite a bit of success at this track in the past and was hoping for some more of the same on this beautiful night in Minnesota.

The next time by the green flag was waving with Madsen jumping into the lead followed by Macedo and Gravel in early race action. Carson was close behind in the second position and was doggedly pacing the leader at the end of lap one. It was early, but already exciting.

The track had quite a bit of character and the front runners were showing off their grit and speed during the opening laps. On Lap 2, the yellow flag came out for Conner Morrell who slowed to a stop on the inside berm in turn three. It was Kerry Madsen leading Carson Macedo, David Gravel, and Kelby Watt with Michael Kofoid in fifth.

They got back up to speed with Madsen trying to build his speed back up while fending off the hard-charging Macedo in the Albaugh #41. David Gravel was right there too running in third as Kofoid made his way by Watt into the fourth position. The leaders were fast and quickly closing in on the back of the pack.

By the eighth circuit they were already forced to adjust their race lines to weave through the slower lap cars. Carson was closing the gap, but Kerry Madsen was still in control. Macedo kept inching closer and on lap 12 he had a strong run off the bottom of turn two and drove the JJR #41 underneath the TK Concrete #55V entering turn three to seize the lead.

Carson the paced himself and stayed up on the wheel to put a little space between himself and the second running Madsen. With ten laps to go, Carson was leading Madsen, Gravel, Kofoid, and Watt. Macedo was running behind Ian Madsen and Justin Henderson as the bottom lane was dominant. If you got too high the cars would get tight. That allowed Madsen and Gravel to close in on your race leader.

Carson made his way by Ian Madsen to buy some breathing room for just a lap or two before Madsen started to close again. The Lemoore, California driver was not bothered and stayed focused to race under the checkers first in the FENDT Nationals at the Jackson Motorplex. It was Carson’s and the team’s fourth win of the 2025 season and the driver’s 51st career World of Outlaws win. To top it off, the win represented Jason Johnson Racing’s (JJRs) 75 World of Outlaws victory. An incredible feat for a team built on Jason Johnson’s dream and passion to never stop trying.

It was Carson’s fifth career victory at the Jackson Motorplex, the most of anyone at the track with the World of Outlaws history now. He climbed up and celebrated the win with the confetti falling after sharing congratulatory hugs with Robby, Adam, Philip, and the team’s good luck charm on this night Dennis Albaugh. Taking with Conner Wade he shared, “My heart rate is a little bit up. I feel like I had a little arm pump there. It didn’t take much to throw the wheel out of your hand.” He continued, “It seemed like a couple of times I’d get tight behind a guy then hit a hole and it would jerk the wheel around, and I’s have to grab on and hold on as tight as I could.” The Lemoore, California speedster them paused to acknowledge his team. Carson stated, “Man . . . hats off to Philip Dietz. Winning another race here at Jackson. I owe a lot to him. He just does a great job and makes phenomenal adjustments here. It seems like I can rotate these corners better than anyone.” A great night and win for Macedo and the forty-one team!
