A DISAPPOINTING 22ND PLACE FINISH IN ASCS NATIONAL TOUR ACTION AT THE 19TH ANNUAL MUSCO LIGHTING/CASEY’S GENERAL STORE FRONT ROW CHALLENGE

OSKALOOSA, IOWA (August 4, 2014) – Monday night Jason and the Stenhouse Jr. Racing team made the short trek from Knoxville to Oskaloosa to race in the 19th Annual Musco Lighting/Casey’s General Store Front Row Challenge. Billed by promoters as “a party where a race broke out”, there were 41 cars on hand ready to put on a show for the fans. The Stenhouse Jr. boys rolled the Fischer Body Shop/C&R Racing Incorporated #41 Maxim out of the trailer to prep for a competitive night of ASCS National Tour action.

There were five heat races scheduled for the night with the five heat race winners and the eleven highest point scorers locking into the feature event. Jason went out onto the big half mile, semi-banked dirt oval in the Fischer Body Shop speedster. He rolled his Weld Racing wheels into his fourth starting spot and readied himself to get going when the green flag waved. He pounded the accelerator and got up to speed coming off turn four as he positioned himself in the third spot behind front row starters, Wayne Johnson and Tony Bruce, Jr. The trio of high speed racers were setting a torrid pace around the speedway as they crossed the finish line in that order with Chris Martin and Tyler Drueke rounding out the top five.

Earning enough passing points combined with his heat race finishing position points enable Jason in the Waco Metal/AccuDoc Solutions #41 to advance to the 30-lap Front Row Challenge feature event. Originally scheduled to start 13th in the feature, the 4-time ASCS National Champion bumped up to the inside of row six to the 11th starting spot when Brad Loyet took the Front Row Challenge to start at the back of the pack. That put Jac Haudenschild on the pole to start the feature. Jac jumped into the lead at the start around the Southern Iowa Fairground’s track with Russ Hall and Wayne Johnson trying to chase him down. Jason unfortunately experienced mechanical problems and was forced to the pits with a 22nd place finish. Back on the track, by the midway point, Brian Brown had tracked Jac down in traffic and stole the lead on lap 16 and went on to take the win with Haudenschild in second, Hall in third, Seth Bergman in fourth and Sam Hafertepe, Jr. rounding out the top five.
