RAGIN’ CAJUN CLOSES OUT INDEPENDENCE DAY WEEKEND WITH A RUNNER-UP FINISH IN THE ASCS WARRIOR REGION RED, WHITE, AND BLUE TOUR AT DOUBLE-X SPEEDWAY

CALIFORNIA, MISSOURI (July 6, 2014) – As if four race in four nights was not enough, the Ragin’ Cajun arrived back in Rocky Mount, Missouri after a 9.5 hour tow from Dodge City, Kansas the night before and he wanted to race some more. Philip and the Stenhouse Jr. Racing crew serviced the car and they decided to go racing close to their backyard at Double-X Speedway to close out the ASCS Warrior Region Red, White, and Blue Tour.

With 31 cars at the track for the Red, White, and Blue Tour finale it was time to go racing around the quarter mile, semi-banked oval. Jason pushed off and headed to his pole position starting spot in the Fischer Body Shop/Pro Powder Coating Maxim. The race fans were eager to see some high speed sprint car action on the track and their wish was soon fulfilled when the green lights illuminated around the speedway. Jason buried his right foot and rocketed off the turn and down the straightaway. He led the field into turn one and never looked back as he circled around the track eight times to take the win in front of Taylor Walton and J.R. Topper. The heat race win moved him on to the main event.

Ready for more racing action, he rolled out onto the track for the 25-lap feature event where he would start on the outside of the front row in the CURB Records/FK Rod Ends machine. Chris Morgan’s #81A was to his left and the always tough Jonathan Cornell was right behind him on his rear nerf bar following his Fuel Safe Racing Cell. When the flagman dropped the green flag, the heavy right foot of the Rocky Mount resident dropped as he seized the lead on lap one. He continued to show the way for the first twenty two laps around Double-X Speedway before he encountered lapped traffic with Cornell close behind. Cornell jumped on an opportunity to scoot past Johnson in traffic and went on to score the victory with Jason crossing the stripe in the runner-up spot followed by Chris Morgan, Corey Nelson and Evan Martin rounding out the top five on this night. A nice way to end five consecutive nights of racing for Jason and the Stenhouse Jr. Racing boys.
