JJ AND THE CREW WERE BACK AT KNOXVILLE RACEWAY AND PERSERVERED THROUGH A CHALLENGING NIGHT WITH A 20TH PLACE RUN

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (May 17, 2014) – The half-mile clay oval in Knoxville, Iowa is always alluring to the most talented sprint car drivers in the country, but it also can be difficult to deal with when everything is not right. The JJR/Stenhouse Jr. Racing team arrived at the track in the CURB Records/Pro Powder Coating #41 Maxim with their Don Ott 410 racing engine under the hood. There were 33 entries on this beautiful Saturday night to compete for the big division winner’s check. Jason would hit the track 28th for time trials, and turn a quick lap of 16.052 seconds, which was 27th quick overall. He would start in the last row of the third 8-lap heat race from the seventh starting spot in attempt to secure one of the qualifying advancement positions to the feature event. When the green flag waved, it was quickly replaced by the red flag as Josh Schneiderman and Rob Kubli flipped in turn one. When the green lights illuminated again around the speedway, the “Show Me” state resident was on the throttle and moving forward as he raced in the top five aboard the Xtreme Accu-Tach/Schoenfeld Headers machine to eventually secure a fourth place finish. When the feature line-up was posted, he was set to start near the back of the pack in the 20th position. Struggling with some mechanical issues and power on this night, he was never a threat in the feature as he finished where he started on the night in the 20th spot. The team and driver will work hard to improve their results next time out as they are a hard working, perseverant bunch of professionals.
