A BUSY NIGHT OF RACING AS THE CAJUN SENSATION DOES DOUBLE DUTY ON HIS FIRST TRIP TO KNOXVILLE RACEWAY THIS SEASON RUNNING BOTH THE 360 AND 410

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (May 10, 2014) – Central Iowa during racing season is always exciting because it means the Dunkin’s have the surface at Knoxville Raceway ready for some high speed sprint car action. For the first time this season, Jason and the Stenhouse Jr. Racing team made their way to the coveted racing jewel and they were going to be busy as he was determined to gets some laps around the famed half mile in both the 360 and 410. For 360 competition, Jason would be behind the wheel of the red and black Baughman Motorsports/Fischer Body Shop #17. He wasted little time getting the wheels turning as he ran a quick lap of 16.294 seconds, which was 3rd quick overall behind Justin Henderson and Dylan Peterson. He would start on the outside of row three in the third heat race and he went racing from there when Justin Clark dropped the ‘go’ flag. Moving from the top to the bottom, he hugged the inside berm and was rocketing forward out of the turns. His forward motion carried him into the runner-up spot at the finish line behind heat race winner Russ Hall. He would again start from the sixth spot in the 360 feature which was scheduled to be 15 laps. He was up on the wheel and took the green flag as all 24 entries were fighting for position from their starting spots. He would make his way up as far as fourth place as he passed Calvin Landis on the low side and had his sights set on Jon Agan’s DeeZee #4 before Justin Henderson slipped by a few laps before they crossed the finish line. Joe Beaver would win for the second week in a row followed by Jonathan Cornell, Agan, Henderson and Jason who rounded out the top five on his first night back.

Not having time to breathe or debrief with the crew, he unbuckled and climbed out of the cockpit of the Baughman Motorsports #17 and into his ButlerBuilt seat nestled in the cockpit of the Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT)/AccuDoc Solutions #41 for 410 action. There were 36 entries and when time trials concluded for the division he was 21st overall with a fast lap of 15.945 seconds. That put the white, orange and black Tony Lama Boots/Oakley Maxim on the pole in the first heat event. When the competitors were lined up in heat one, it was an all Johnson front row with Jason and Wayne pacing the field and an all Dollansky second row with Garrett and Craig following close behind. When the Pella Motors pace truck pulled in the pits, it was the Cajun Sensation seizing the lead and showing the way. He would capture the win ahead of Craig Dollansky, Terry McCarl, Wayne Johnson and Brian Brown. Advancing to the 20-lap main event, the Rocky Mount, Missouri resident would start back in row nine from the 17th starting spot. After a number of interruptions before they actually got a lap recorded, the Cajun went to work using his KSE Racing Products to steer his way around the oval. Brian Brown would eventually take his second consecutive race victory ahead of Ian Madsen and Dusty Zomer, with Jason garnering a 15th place finish in his first night back at Knoxville.
