ANOTHER NIGHT AT VOLUSIA FOR DIRTCAR NATIONALS: PARKER PRICE-MILLER JUMPS INTO THE COCKPIT OF THE JJR #41 AS DAVID GRAVEL COMPETED IN THE ARCA RACE AT DAYTONA AND COMES HOME WITH A TOP 15 FINISH

BARBERVILLE, FLORIDA (February 8, 2020) – With David Gravel racing in the Menards ARCA series race over at Daytona International Speedway, talented Parker Price-Miller jumped into the cockpit of the JJR #41 Maxim Racing machine to compete in the fourth night of the 49th Annual DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park. Parker Price-Miller will be filling the JJR #41 seat throughout the 2020 season when David is racing on the pavement, in addition to running his race schedule in the Dietz Motorsports #14. On this night of racing, there were 35 teams registered to race on Saturday night under the beautiful Floridian sunset.

Pulling a late pill at the draw, Parker would be the 33rd car to hit the track for his two laps at the track. The track was considerably slower for all of the competitors in time trial qualifying, but the talented racer got the wheel rolling on his Weikert’s Livestock/The Boyd Family #41 Maxim. He was up on the wheel and working his way around the oval looking to carry and speed and minimize tire spin. His quickest time on the stopwatch read 13.738 seconds, which was good enough for 20th quick overall on the night.

He would start from the inside of row three, from the fifth starting spot, in Drydene Heat Race #4 with Cale Conley to his outside. 2019 WoO Champion Brad Sweet was on the pole as Ian Madsen was to his outside. Brock Zearfoss and Kerry Madsen made up row two and Jason Sides and Bill Rose filled in row four. Parker Price-Miller climbed into his high speed office wearing his grey Durst Inc. driver’s suit. He rolled the Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT)/Brown & Miller Racing Solutions (BMRS) onto the track for the 8-lap event. When the green flag waved it was Ian Madsen driving into the lead over Sweet as Price-Miller settled into the fifth position. A caution was thrown for Zearfoss and Conley slowing the speed of the field. When the green flag waved to restart the event, Parker took advantage of the stoppage to drive into the fourth position. Ian Madsen would take the win over Sweet and Kerry Madsen as Price-Miller came home fourth and Conley locked down the final transfer position from the last heat race.

With the 30-lap feature event only remaining on the evening’s agenda, it was time to go racing at Volusia Speedway Park. Parker Price-Miller would line the Greber Racing Components/Jansen Transportation #41 Maxim from the 16 starting position with Shane Stewart to his inside. Ian Madsen and Brad Sweet were sitting on the front row with Brian Brown and Same Hafertepe Jr. right behind in row two. Ian Madsen jumped into the early lead over Sweet as the field was setting a torrid pace around the half-mile oval. As the leaders caught the back of the field and started racing through the slower traffic things started to get interesting. Sweet closed the gap that leader Madsen had built and made the pass for the lead in turn one. The two were racing close when Ian Madsen took a wild ride exiting turn two to bring out the red flag. Madsen was okay, but the fence needed repaired resulting in a long red flag period. Parker was able to gain two positions in the running order over the first third of the race. During the red flag stop, the driver and team worked on their entry to attempt to make it the best they could for their driver and the track conditions. When racing resumed, Parker was back up on the wheel working hard to drive forward. Sweet continued to lead the field as most of the competitors were on the top side of the track, while a few others dropped low and were moving forward. Logan Schuchart was one of those the fans were watching. When the checkered cloth flew over the field, it was Sweet taking the win over teammate James McFadden as Daryn Pittman, Brian Brown and Logan Schuchart, who started 25th,rounding out the top five. Parker Price-Miller did a good job and brought home a 14th place finish on the night. A good run for the Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT) forty-one!
