CONTINUING ACTION IN NORTH DAKOTA AT NODAK SPEEDWAY: THE LOUISIANA NATIVE COMES TO THE NORTH DAKOTA STATE FAIR WITH HIS JJR #41 TEAM AND LEAVES WITH A HARD FOUGHT 13TH PLACE FINISH ON FATHER’S DAY

MINOT, NORTH DAKOTA (June 17, 2018) – After leaving Grand Forks and trucking four hours across Highway 2, Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT) style, Jason and the JJR team pulled onto the grounds of the North Dakota State Fair. Nodak Speedway’s 3/8-mile dirt oval is a central part of the fairgrounds and the JJR crew was excited to show off their beautifully presented blue Dissolvalloy Downhole Revolution #41 Maxim on Father’s Day. With the fair just ahead on the calendar, running from July 20th to July 28th, where acts like Florida Georgia Line and Dierks Bentley are set to perform, all of the fans here on this night were here to see the traveling superstars from the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series do their thing. The grandstands were full to see the 26 teams onsite perform at speed.

Jason would roll off 13th for his two time trial laps on the clock aboard the Dissolvalloy/Brown & Miller Racing Solutions (BMRS) #41. When Cory Eliason crossed the finish line to complete his laps, the Eunice, Louisiana native jumped on the loud pedal and got up to speed using his Kistler Engines power. He turned his first lap in 13.793 seconds. Searching for a faster way around Nodak, Jason would stay on the gas on lap two but come in slightly slower at 13.990 seconds. When the final qualifier, Hunter Schuerenberg, completed his two laps, the faster of Jason’s two laps was 12th quick overall as he had the exact same lap time as Dominic Scelzi.

With the times in the books, the heat race lineups were set with the Ragin’ Cajun slated to start fourth in the third and final heat race. With the top six transferring to the feature, it was time to get up on his Max Papis Innovations (MPI) steering wheel. The front row of Ian Madsen and Donny Schatz would pace the field with Shane Stewart sharing row two with Jason as Brent Marks, Clyde Knipp, Hunter Schuerenberg and Dusty Lawson rounding out the starting field. The initial restart was waved off as polesitter Ian Madsen was flagged and penalized for jumping on the initial green flag start. Racing commenced the next time around with Schatz taking the lead over Stewart and Madsen and Marks used the low line to take over the fourth position from Johnson. Madsen would track down Stewart to take over the runner-up position as Jason was chasing Marks around Nodak in the Dissolvalloy/Valvoline #41 Maxim. Schatz would take the win as Madsen came home second followed by Stewart, Marks and Johnson with Schuerenberg securing the final transfer spot.

The air horn sounded, indicating eight minutes to feature time, as the crews made their final preparations for their drivers. The Dissolvalloy Downhole Revolution/Winters Performance Products entry with Jason Johnson as the pilot would start from the inside of row eight with Jason Sides to his outside. Polesitter Cory Eliason brought the field to the green flag and led lap one. Jason wasted little time as he went to work inside his cockpit from the comfort of his Fibreworks Composites fitted seat. He was moving forward early stages as he made his way into the top ten. He continued to battle for position as leader Eliason had Daryn Pittman on his bumper with 10 laps to go. Pittman made the pass for the lead with eight laps to go, as Jason retreated a few positions on the evolving surface. Pittman would go on to collect the win over Brad Sweet, Donny Schatz and David Gravel as Cory Eliason rounded out the top five. Jason brought the Dissolvalloy Downhole Revolution #41 Maxim home with a 13th place finish at Nodak Speedway.
