A DISAPPOINTING 16TH PLACE FINISH IN THE AMERICAN EAGLE HARLEY-DAVIDSON #41 AT DEVIL’S BOWL ON NIGHT ONE OF THE 41st ANNUAL SPRING NATIONALS; NIGHT TWO POSTPONED AND RESCHEDULED TO MARCH 29TH
MESQUITE, TEXAS (March 21, 2014) – The ASCS National Tour competitors were back in action Friday night at Devil’s Bowl. The Shop Diesel Shop, Stenhouse Jr. Racing/JJR Maxim was in the pit area with a really cool new look representing their sponsorship partner American Eagle Harley-Davidson from Denton, Texas in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Jason wasted little time putting their new sponsor at the front of the pack when he powered his way around the half mile oval for eight laps to capture to the victory in the fifth heat race. Wasting little time, Philip and the JJR team went to work to prep the car for the 25-lap feature event. Gridding the field from the ninth starting spot, the 4-time ASCS Champion had his work cut out with a field full of eager racers. Front row starters Tony Bruce. Jr. and Matt Covington brought the twenty four car field to the green flag and the fans to their feet. Tony Bruce, Jr. would lead every lap to take the win, while Jason struggled to a 16th place finish in the Gleco Plating Inc./Xtreme Accu-Tach #41. After focusing on making the improvements to the car, the team was ready to race on night two of the 41st Annual Spring Nationals, but Mother Nature had other thoughts and the race was postponed to Saturday, March 29th.
