A STRONG RUN IN THE GERDAU MAGIC CITY SHOWDOWN AT NODAK SPEEDWAY FOR JASON AND THE JJR MARSHALL RACING TEAM RESULTS IN A SIXTH PLACE FINISH AROUND THE 3/8-MILE RACING OVAL

MINOT, NORTH DAKOTA (August 20, 2017) – For the third night in a row, this time at Nodak Speedway which was established in 1953 and is known as The Playground of Power, Jason and the JJR Marshall Racing team were racing under the skies of North Dakota. There were 30 cars fielded for the evening of activities at the 3/8-mile oval located on the North Dakota State Fairgrounds in Minot.

Jason would go out 16th aboard his Dissolvalloy Downhole Revolution/FK Rod Ends #41 Maxim for his two qualifying laps in time trials on the demanding oval at Nodak Speedway. He rolled onto the racing surface and pedaled down as he took the green. He maneuvered through the turns and motored down the straightaways to stop the clock at 13.671 seconds after the first lap. He stayed on the gas and had the forty-one moving. Looking to pick up any time using his speed provided by his Kistler Engines horsepower, he shaved .015 seconds off his first lap coming in at 13.656 seconds the second time around. That lap would be 9th quick overall on the night.

The Ragin’ Cajun would start on the inside of row two beside Jamie Veal in the third heat race. Donny Schatz and Ian Madsen would be on the front row as Brent Marks and Greg Nikitenko made up row three. Tim Kaeding, Trent Stengl, Kevin Lawson and Todd Mickelson rounding out the field. When the green light illuminated it was Schatz diving into the lead as Jamie Veal used his outside starting spot to secure the runner-up spot ahead of Madsen and Johnson. Jason kept pursuing Madsen for the show position as he wheeled the Fischer Body Shop/CCC #41 around Nodak. Schatz went on to collect the heat race win over Veal, Madsen and Jason as Brent Marks and Tim Kaeding locked into the remaining transfer positions.

For the Gerdau Magic City Showdown 40-lap feature, Jason would line up 12th in his Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT)/FK Shocks #41 Maxim. The Ragin’ Cajun had some work to do, but he is a racer and likes to overcome challenges. He climbed into the cockpit of his Maxim Racing chassis and buckled into his Crow Enterprizes safety belts. It was time to go racing at Nodak Speedway as the fans in the stands were brimming with excitement under the covered grandstands. Polesitter David Gravel would lead lap one as Jason drove up to the tenth spot. The Eunice, Louisiana native kept his momentum moving forward and drove into eighth position and was digging for more. A race caution with 11 laps to go bunched the field up and when they went back to green flag racing the Cajun Sensation took over seventh just behind Jac Haudenschild. Gravel was showing the way at the front of the pack with Donny Schatz getting by Brad Sweet for the runner-up position with a few laps to go. Jason did the same as he moved by the Wild Child into the sixth position in the running order. Gravel would go on to capture his 13th victory of the season over Schatz, Sweet, Shane Stewart and Daryn Pittman with Jason picking up six positions from where he started to bring the Priority Aviation Services, LLC #41 Maxim home with a quality sixth place finish to cap off a terrific weekend of racing and results for Jason and the JJR Marshall Racing team. He earned the KSE Hard Charger Award for his nights work passing six cars in the 35-lap feature. Another good run for the forty-one!
