JASON AND THE JJR MARSHALL RACING #41 TEAM CARRY SPEED INTO EAGLE RACEWAY AND REBOUND FROM SPIN IN THE FEATURE FOR A 12TH PLACE FINISH IN THE EAGLE NATIONALS

EAGLE, NEBRASKA (June 13, 2017) – Jason and the JJR Marshall Racing crew were back at it again on Tuesday night with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series, this time at Eagle Raceway for the running of the Eagle Nationals. There were 32 cars registered to race at this beautiful 3/8-mile oval on a hot and windy day in the Nebraska plains.

Jason buckled into his custom Fibreworks Composites seat as he waited patiently for his chance to get out on the track for his two time trial qualifying laps. The Ragin’ Cajun was the 28th driver onto the track in the Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT)/Waco Metal #41 Maxim with the quickest time on the board at that time being Kerry Madsen’s 11.429 second turn. Wasting little time, Jason mashed the gas and was off. He ran two quick laps, with the quickest coming in at 11.586 seconds, which was third quick overall on the night. A speedy start to the night for the Rocky Mount, Missouri based team.

His time placed him in the pole position for heat three beside Donny Schatz. Kraig Kinser and Taylor Malsam were in row two with Cap Henry and Daniel Harding making up row three. Jason reacted swiftly when the green flag waved and drove hard into turn one with the lead over Schatz. He was flying in the Priority Aviation Services, LLC Maxim and led every lap to take the heat race victory over Schatz, Kinser and Henry with Harding securing the fifth and final transfer position.

Making his way into the Craftsman Club Dash, he was slated to start from the third position in the pre-dash lineup. When the inversion pill was pulled it was an eight, which shuffled him back to sixth for the start of the dash event. When the green flag waved over the six lap sprint race to establish the starting order for the first four rows of the feature, he dropped backed to the eight position and maintained that position as he crossed the line behind race winner Daryn Pittman. Pittman was also followed across the finish line by Donny Schatz, Brad Sweet, Shane Stewart, Ian Madsen, Kyle Larson and Kerry Madsen.

For the 30-lap feature, the outside of row four would be Jason’s starting position in the Fischer Body Shop/FK Rod Ends #41. After the four-wide salute in front of a large crowd of fans on this night, Daryn Pittman took the lead on the green flag lap. Before a full lap could be completed the yellow flag was displayed, unfortunately the caution was due to the spinning forty-one entry with Paul McMahan also getting involved. Jason rejoined the field at the back of the pack and when the green was waved again started a determine march forward. He is always exciting, but was up on the wheel and making tracks as his Hoosier Racing Tires gripped the surface at Eagle Raceway. Pittman maintained the lead as Jason broke into the top 15. The Ragin’ Cajun kept working inside the cockpit of his Maxim Racing machine and worked his way up to 12th in the waning laps of the race. At the front, NASCAR star Kyle Larson tracked down Pittman and made the late race pass for the lead stick to take the win over Pittman, Stewart, Sweet and Schatz. Jason rebounded with a respectable 12th place finish at Eagle Raceway.
