JASON DRIVES FORWARD IN THE DISSOLVALLOY DOWNHOLE REVOLUTION/BMRS #41 AND FINISHES WITH A SEVENTH PLACE FINISH AT RIVER CITIES SPEEDWAY IN NORTH DAKOTA

GRAND FORKS, NORTH DAKOTA (August 26, 2016) – One thing is for certain when you travel with the World of Outlaw Craftsman Sprint Car Series . . . you will get to see all different parts of the United States (and sometimes Canada). Jason and the JJR crew headed to Grand Forks on Friday night to race at River Cities Speedway. There were 40 cars registered in the pit area and everyone was gunning to be the driver who stood on the top of the podium at the end of the night.

The trip north did not change the teams luck when it comes to the pill draw. Once again they pulled one of the higher numbers in this game of chance, which put them towards the end of the time trial order. Not deterred, Jason and the crew watched the track as their fellow competitors time trialed. They stayed focused on what they needed to do when they got the opportunity to take their two laps around the 3/10 mile, high banked clay oval. The Ragin’ Cajun rolled the Priority Aviation Services, LLC/Waco Metal #41 onto the track and pressed his right foot onto the accelerator. Shazam, he was off like Captain Marvel! He sped under the green flag and worked his way around the oval as quickly as he could with his Hoosier Racing Tires kicking up the dirt. When he crossed the line he stopped the clock with a good lap coming in at 10.394 seconds. He stayed on the loud pedal and improved the second time around with a lap of 10.292 seconds, which ended up being 6th quick in Flight B, and 12th quick overall on the night. Not a bad start for the Louisiana born racer and his team.

By virtue of his time, he lined the Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT)/BMRS #41 Maxim up on the inside of row two in the fourth heat race. Brad Sweet and Shane Stewart made up row one, as Paul McMahan shared the second row with Jason. The green lights replaced the yellow ones around the track and the race was on. Game time! Sweet led Stewart, McMahan and the Ragin’ Cajun early. Jason was able to maneuver past McMahan into the show position as the 10-lap event progressed. Sweet would go on to take the heat race victory over Stewart, the Ragin’ Cajun, and McMahan with Jordan Adams coming home in the fifth and final transfer position.

Jason and Philip discussed their strategy as Jeff and Jakob worked on the car. After Philip made the final adjustments, the double horn sounded throughout the pit area indicating it was time to head track side for the start of the 40-lap feature event under North Dakota skies. The fans were ready for some sprint car racing as they packed the grandstands. This is what they have been waiting for all night. Donny Schatz and Joey Saldana were in the front row with Logan Schuchart and Brad Sweet close behind in row two. Jason was back in row six along with Logan Forler as the two looked ahead at drivers like David Gravel, Mark Dobmeier, Shane Stewart, Dusty Zomer, Daryn Pittman, and Wade Nygaard paced between them and the front two rows. Schatz, a North Dakota native son, led the field on lap one with Saldana giving chase. Jason made some bold moves early and often moving from his 12th starting position and soon would be scored in the top ten after the first few laps aboard the Fischer Body Shop/K&N Filters #41. Not content, he stayed up on the wheel and kept working hard to improve his position. Schatz was decimating the field in clean air, but Jason was making a favorable impression as he drove patiently and cleanly picking up a spot here and a spot there. Schatz would go on to take the win, as he lapped everyone through the tenth running position, ahead of Sweet Dobmeier, Schuchart, Saldana and Pittman, as Jason brought home a hard earned seventh place finish. It was the team’s 37th Top Ten finish this season, which is a 52.11% Top Ten success rate. A good run for the Ragin’ Cajun and the forty-one team at River Cities Speedway!
