JOHNSON NAMED NORTH AMERICAN 360 SPRINT CAR POLL DRIVER OF THE YEAR FOR 2013; IN ADDITION, THE TEAM WAS ALSO RECOGNIZED FOR THE THIRD TIME AS THE 360 TEAM OF THE YEAR
KNOXVILLE, IOWA (January 16, 2014) – For the fifth time in his career, Jason Johnson was voted as the 2013 “Driver of the Year” by the North American 360 Sprint Car Poll voting panel of media members, promoters, sanctioning officials and manufacturers. As a competitor on the Lucas Oil ASCS National tour he competes against the best racers in the country night in and night out. The four-time ASCS National tour champion garnered twelve (12) of the fifteen (15) first-place ballots cast in the year-end poll which culminated in 1,220 points. In addition, Jason and Bobbi Johnson earned their third “Team of the Year” award as well. Those drivers ranked second through fifth, respectively, are: Johnny Herrera of New Mexico with 540 points; two-time “Driver of the Year” Shane Stewart from Oklahoma with 322 points; Jeff Swindell of Tennessee with 254 points; and, ASCS Northwest Region champion Roger Crockett from Oregon with 182 points. Jason commented on the honor, “It is always nice to be recognized as the driver and team of the year.” He continued, “Everyone has worked so hard to make our success happen here at the shop and around the country. There are a lot of people and sponsorship partners who make Jason Johnson Racing (JJR) a success. This award is a nice way to acknowledge and recognize everyone that is involved in the Stenhouse Jr. Racing/JJR success as a team.”
