ANOTHER GREAT PERFORMANCE AT THE STOCKTON DIRT TRACK NETS A SIXTH PLACE FINISH FOR JOHNSON ABOARD THE PRIORITY AVIATION SERVICES #41 MAXIM

STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (March 19, 2016) – After a top five run on Friday night, Jason was ready to keep the positive momentum moving forward as they were back in the pit area at the Stockton Dirt Track aboard the Priority Aviation Services/Wilwood Disc Brakes #41 Maxim. There were 31 cars signed in and each of the drivers and teams wanted to be part of the prestigious feature field. The grandstands were full and it was time to go racing!

Unlike on Friday night, this time the team pulled a high pill during the pill draw, number fifty four to be exact, which meant Jason would push off later for his part of the individual portion of the show in the Dissolvalloy Downhole Revolution/Country Custom Creations (CCC) Maxim. Not deterred, the Louisiana wheelman pushed off and got up to speed quickly hanging it out there in the name of speed. He sprinted around the oval quickly for two laps with the faster of his two laps coming in at 13.313 seconds. When the last engine roared across the timing stripe, Jason’s quickest time was 10th quick overall on the night. A very good start with a very stout field of competitors vying for the same performance level.

There were three heats with the top six transferring to the A-Main. Each heat was eight laps so there was not any time to lollygag around. Jason would start from the outside of row two from the fourth starting position with Terry McCarl to his inside and Joey Saldana and Bud Kaeding pacing the field from the front row. Saldana would bolt into the lead with Kaeding and Johnson close behind. Saldana would go on to take the win as Kaeding, Johnson, Jason Sides, McCarl and Dominic Scelzi secured the remaining transfer spots.

The feature field was set and it was time for 30-laps of high speed action at the Stockton Dirt Track. Jason would start from the seventh position with California native Kyle Hirst to his outside in the #83JR. Daryn Pittman and Joey Saldana brought the field to the green with Saldana claiming the lead. Jason was racing for position in the top half of the field and was making tracks and not looking back aboard the Dissolvalloy Downhole Revolution machine. Patience was key as the laps clicked by on the scoreboard. Saldana would relinquish the lead late in the race to Donny Schatz as Jason drove into the sixth spot. Schatz would lead the final five laps as he crossed the finish line ahead of Pittman, Hirst, Saldana and Kerry Madsen in the fifth spot. Jason brought home his ninth top ten finish of the young season, bringing the forty one home with a sixth place finish. Another strong run for Jason and the #41 team!
