A STRONG RUN AT STOCKTON DIRT TRACK ON NIGHT ONE FOR THE CAJUN SENSATION NETS A FOURTH PLACE AS HE CHARGES AROUND THE TOP LATE IN THE FEATURE

STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (March 18, 2016) – The West Coast swing continued for Jason and the JJR team as they headed to the Stockton Dirt Track for two consecutive nights of racing action. There were 32 cars lining the pit area, but only 24 spots in the feature field. It was time to go racing for the 2015 World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year!

Pushing off early for time trials, the Eunice, Louisiana native called for all the horses in the barn as he powered up his Kistler Engines power plant for his two laps in time trials. He set sail in the Priority Aviation Services/Fischer Body Shop #41 Maxim. Both laps were quick, but the faster of his two laps came in at 13.623 seconds, which was second quick overall behind fast timer Donny Schatz.

Starting from the pole position in the second heat race, with Kerry Madsen to his outside, he jumped onto the loud pedal when the green was displayed to take the lead and show the way around Stockton. Terry McCarl, David Gravel and Madsen were giving chase, but the tail tank is all they would see for eight laps as Jason cruised to a heat race victory in the Waco Metal/FK Rod Ends #41 ahead of McCarl, Gravel and Madsen with Dominic Scelzi rounding out the top five.

Making his fifth Dash event of the young racing season, Jason started from the seventh position after they inverted all eight cars based on the pill draw. Brian Brown and Brad Sweet started on the front row and the order didn’t change much throughout the course of the six lap event. Jason was able to pick up one position, finishing sixth, allowing him to start from the outside of row three for the feature event.

The A-Main was next with 30-laps being the distance. Philip and the JJR crew made some adjustments to their Maxim Racing entry as their driver secured his Crow Enterprizes safety restraint belts. These California fans were eager for some great racing action and so were the drivers. Pole sitter, Brian Brown, showed the way early with Brad Sweet and Donny Schatz battling for an opportunity to challenge him for the lead. Jason started running the middle early, but made his way to the top side of the speedway and found some speed. He entered into the top five and kept the hammer down as he searched for racing lanes. Schatz would take the lead as Jason dropped to the bottom of the racing surface as it became the preferred line. As the laps were winding down, Jason moved the Priority Aviation Services/Pro Powder Coating #41 to the top side versus following everyone and made it work. He passed Joey Saldana and made the race for second exciting at the end as he was battling Shane Stewart and Brad Sweet for the spot. The laps ran out, but the Louisiana hot shoe brought home a fourth place finish, his fifth top five finish of the 2016 season, as he crossed the finish line behind Schatz, Sweet, and Stewart.
