JOHNSON PUTS THE VALVOLINE #41 MAXIM IN THE FALL SHOW AT PORT ROYAL SPEEDWAY AND RUNS 26TH AROUND THE HALF MILE OVAL

PORT ROYAL, PENNSYLVANIA (October 24, 2015) – On a cool, but not cold, fall afternoon in Central Pennsylvania, Jason and the World of Outlaws invaded the small town of Port Royal to take on the locals at their own Port Royal Speedway at the fairgrounds. The pit area was packed full of cars as track officials started early in an attempt to beat the rain. There were 47 sprint cars signed into the pits and a number of Mid-Atlantic Modifieds. It was race time.

With two flights of qualifying on tap for this evening, Jason would roll out aboard the Priority Aviation Services, LLC/Valvoline #41 Maxim in the second one and turned a quick lap of 16.712 seconds, which was 12th quick overall in the flight and 21st overall. After rolling back to the pit area, the JJR team went to work to get the car ready for the eight lap heat race.

Lining up on the outside of row three in the fourth heat race, Jason rolled around the top side of the half mile oval, dubbed “The Speed Palace”, ready to get rolling. Logan Schuchart and Greg Wilson brought the field to the green with everyone giving chase. Jason dropped back to the seventh spot in the first two circuits before a yellow came out. Lining up on the bottom for the restart, he drover hard into turn one. Staying to the bottom he missed a three car melee that caught up T.J. Stutts, David Gravel and Cody Darrah that brought out the red flag. Restarting fourth, the Cajun Sensation drove tight around the bottom in the Dissolvalloy/Winters Performance Products #41 to bring home a fourth place finish and a direct ticket to the A-Main.

With the skies getting darker and rain on its way, 28 cars rolled out onto the speedway for 30 laps of high speed racing action. World of Outlaw and track officials eliminated the four-wide salute to the fans and went right to green flag racing. Jason started on the outside of row eleven and was mired in the dirty air in the Fischer Body Shop/RACEDIECAST.COM Maxim. The track was hard and slick, but the speeds were high as the leaders made quick work around the half mile in cleaner air. Jason was holding on trying to make something happen inside the cockpit each and every lap. Unable to get any forward bite, he brought home a 26th place finish when Brad Sweet took the win and just before the sprinkles of rain started to fall from the skies.

Jason and the team will now head to New York on Sunday afternoon to race in the Last Call at the Port, Weedsport Speedway, before heading back to Missouri.
