A HARD FOUGHT NIGHT OF RACNG IN THE CLASH AT THE CREEK ENDS WITH A TOP TEN RUN FOR JASON AND THE JJR FORTY ONE TEAM

SPRING VALLEY, MINNESOTA (September 19, 2015) – After traveling almost 2,000 miles returning from California, Jason and the JJR team were at Deer County Speedway for the Clash at the Creek event along with 26 other competitors. After getting rained out on Friday night at Clay County Fair Speedway in Spencer, Iowa, the sun was shining in the clear blue skies as it was just a downright beautiful fall day in Minnesota for some sprint car racing.

After hot laps completed, the crew made some final adjustments on the Waco Metal/Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT) #41 Maxim before pushing out first for their time trial laps. His first time taking the orange, black and yellow machine around 3/8 mile, high banked clay oval stopped the clock at 12.285 seconds as his motor started to sour. He kept his right foot planted the second go round though and improved his speed and time as the clock read 12.149 seconds for lap two. When the final car stopped the clock in qualifying, the Louisiana-born driver’s best time was 16th quick overall on the night.

When the times were all tabulated and the heat race lineups were set, Jason would find himself and the Priority Aviation Services, LLC speed entry on the outside of the third row in heat one. Terry McCarl was to his inside as Jacob Allen and Danny Lasoski paced from the front of the field with Joey Saldana and Kerry Madsen in row two. A tough field fighting for one of the six transfer spots up for grabs. Lasoski would take the lead early and show the way around Deer Creek Speedway. Jason was dicing for positions and when the checkered flag flew over the field, Jason brought home his entry in the sixth and final transfer position.

For the 35 lap A-Main event, the Ragin’ Cajun would roll off from the 15th starting position with Paige Polyak to his outside. After the Greatest Show on Dirt went four wide to salute the fans they aligned two-by-two for some high speed racing action. Pole sitter Daryn Pittman jumped into the early lead as the field was giving chase. Jason had his Fischer Body Shop/Winters Performance Products #41 on the move early. He wasted little time moving into the top ten and was making tracks and not looking back. He was using the low side of the track to make his drive forward. Lap after lap he was digging and making headway. Pittman has surrendered the lead to Brad Sweet on lap three and Sweet was setting a torrid pace up front. So was Jason as he fought his way up as far as sixth as the track started to take rubber with a tricky curb that was planted up high at the base of the wall. After a late red flag that stopped the action, Jason got back to work in his office using his KSE Racing Products to steer his way to the finish losing a couple of positions to finish tenth. After the race, speaking about his top ten run, he commented, “We had a hard fought night here at Deer Creek.” He continued, “We were up to sixth there around the bottom, and then the track took on some rubber up top and we ended up tenth.” It was JJR’s 24th top ten run of the 2015 season. He concluded by stating, “That was a fun race. The groove moved around all night and made for some great racing.”
