JASON MEYERS POWERS HIS WAY TO A TENTH PLACE FINISH ABOARD JJR’S DISSOLVALLOY #41 MAXIM ON NIGHT TWO AT CALISTOGA SPEEDWAY IN THE WINE COUNTRY OUTLAW SHOWDOWN

CALISTOGA, CALIFORNIA (April 12, 2015) – Taking the seat in the Dissolvalloy/Valvoline #41 Maxim for the second night in a row, Jason Meyers and the entire JJR team worked hard to get the driver more comfortable in the car so they could improve their results at Calistoga Speedway after the first night of racing action. With 35 eager competitors in the pits, you cannot afford to miss, even just a little, or you will find yourself fighting your way through a difficult night. They do not call these guys the best in the business just for fun. There is a reason, and that reason is because these World of Outlaws (WoO) competitors race extremely hard and do not leave anything on the table for someone else to take.

Meyers got his Weld Racing wheels turning as the push truck tapped his rear nerf bar. His Kistler Engine fired and he went out and circled the half-mile oval in 17.643 seconds. The time was twelfth quickest overall and would position him on the front row of one of the four heat races.

In the fourth heat race, the Clovis, California native and two-time WoO champion paced around the beautiful Calistoga Speedway waiting to align the Priority Aviation Services, LLC/KSE Racing Products entry on the outside of the front row beside fellow Californian Carson Macedo in his #21x. Meyers wasted little time as he jumped on the loud pedal coming off turn four and charged into the lead. Macedo was in pursuit, but the #41 was the rabbit setting the pace with Macedo in chase mode. When the black and white checkered cloth flew over the field, Meyers took the heat race win ahead of Macedo, Jason Sides, and Logan Schuchart with Kevin Swindell rounding out the top five.

Earning a starting spot in the Dash, Meyers would roll into the seventh starting spot. Six laps for the top eight qualifiers and heat race winners certainly go by quickly in these Dash events. Meyers turned down the shield down on his helmet and got his elbows up as he drove hard to gain one position and finish in the sixth spot, which positioned him on the outside of the third row in the feature event.

It was feature time and the 5,000 plus fans that filled the grandstands were ready for some more high speed action in the 25 lap Wine Country Outlaw Showdown finale at Calistoga Speedway. After making the final adjustments to the Jason Johnson Racing (JJR) speed machine, the crew and driver were ready to go fast in the Fischer Body Shop/Jonestown KOA machine. All the preparation was done. The only thing left was to see if everything was going to work out as planned. Donnie Schatz and Craig Dollansky made up the front row with Jason Sides and Shane Stewart in row two. Meyers was in row three with Joey Saldana to his inside. Craig Dollansky would seize the lead with the field in tow. Meyers was trying to find the fast way around for the forty one and stayed on the gas. He was holding his own. Just after the midway point, Dollansky bobbled and Schatz closed in quickly to take the lead on lap 13 and lead the rest of the way for his fifth win on the season. Meyers held on and brought home a tenth place finish in only his second night in the JJR car. A respectable night for Meyers and the JJR team.

As the Ragin’ Cajun continues to rest and recuperate, Jason Meyers and the JJR boys will continue to dig hard throughout the week as they try to find some more speed and balance in preparation for next weekend’s WoO action on Friday night at Kings Speedway and Saturday night at Perris Auto Speedway to finish off this West Coast swing.
