A TOP TEN RUN FOR JOHNSON IN THE FORTY ONE KICKS OFF ACTION IN SIN CITY ON NIGHT ONE OF THE FVP SHOWDOWN
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (March 4, 2015) – After leaving Florida in mid-February, and navigating through various forms of weather, Jason and the Priority Aviation Services, LLC and JJR crew were in Las Vegas ready for two nights of high speed action at half mile semi-banked oval at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas. There were 33 cars anxiously awaiting their turn to hit the track so they could fling some dirt around at speed.
After each driver completed their hot laps and got heat in the engines, the lined up to go out for their two time trial laps. Jason pushed off fifteenth and completed his first round in 14.845 seconds. He stayed on the gas as the air flowed over his front wing emblazoned with E&K logo as the Louisiana born speedster turned in a quicker lap at 14.223 seconds. E&K is a comprehensive, best-in-class interior and exterior construction services company based out of Phoenix, Arizona that came on board as an associate sponsor with JJR for the FVP Showdown and other selected events throughout the year. When the final driver lifted his foot off the accelerator in time trials, Jason quickest time was 13th overall.
When the heat race lineups were set, the Ragin’ Cajun found himself sitting on the pole in the first heat race. He pushed off aboard the finely prepared Fischer Body Shop/E&K #41 and pulled to the inside of Logan Schuchart on the front row. When Johnny Gibson finished reading off the lineup over the public address system and the green flag waved, the air was filled with the roar of 410 engines. Jason seized the lead as he used his Kistler Engine to generate the speed he need as everyone else was in chase of the orange, black and yellow Maxim. Jason crossed the line first earning the win and making his way into the coveted 6-lap Dash.
The Dash event was next where he started from the seventh starting spot. The event always goes by quickly and when all of the laps were completed, Jason finished in the eighth position.
With the lights of Sin City glistening under the blackened sky in the background, the competitors were called to the staging area for the 30-lap FVP Showdown. The Rocky Mount, Missouri resident then climbed into his ButlerBuilt Professional Seat System and buckled his Crow Enterprizes safety belts as the four wheeler came in from behind to escort him to the staging area. As the engine fired he pulled his Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT)/Dissolvalloy machine to the outside of row four beside Daryn Pittman. Front row starters, Brian Brown and Shane Stewart, brought the field to the green and set the pace. Jason was using his KSE Racing Products to make progress and advancing his way forward, but he got up over the cushion a few times relegating him down the scoring pylon. Each time he fought back and when Shane Stewart took the checkers, Jason brought home a solid tenth place finish against a formidable field of sprint cars best competitors.
