JOHNSON TAKES OFF ON NIGHT ONE OF DIRTCAR NATIONALS AT VOLUSIA SPEEDWAY PARK WITH A NINTH PLACE FINISH ABOARD THE PRIORITY AVIATION SERVICES, LLC #41

BARBERVILLE, FLORIDA (February 11, 2015) – A lot of hard work and preparation happens during the off season for sprint car teams and things were no different at the Jason Johnson Racing (JJR) shop in Rocky Mount, Missouri. Jason and the crew worked extremely hard over the winter months building their equipment and get ready for a full season with the World of Outlaws in 2015. Their dream kicked off at Volusia Speedway Park on night one of the DIRTcar Nationals against the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions.

There were 28 entries in the field and when the Louisiana pedal masher took to the track in his Priority Aviation Services, LLC/Fischer Body Shop #41 Maxim for his time trial lap he timed in at 13.349 seconds, which was 14th quick overall.

When the heat race lineups were set, the beautifully prepare forty one paced the track from his outside front row starting spot with Chad Kemenah to his inside on the pole. As the field took the green, Jason mashed the power pedal and he was off down the front straightaway as he drove hard into turn one to take the lead. It was a lead that he would not give up as he set a fast pace around the Florida oval taking the win in the Waco Metal speed machine over Kemenah, Joey Saldana, Greg Hodnett and Kerry Madsen.

When qualifying was completed, the A-Main lineup was set and Jason and the Dissolvalloy Frac Ball Revolution #41 would start from the outside of row seven. After pulling his belts tight, the motor fired and he rolled out onto the speedway for 30 fast paced laps. When the green flag waved, pole sitter Greg Hodnett jumped into the lead as Jason wheeled his car around the top on the cushion making his way forward. After an early caution, he forged his way up to the tenth spot and was looking for more. When racing resumed at speed, he went to work trying to track down and pass Jason Sides. When the opportunity presented itself, the Ragin’ Cajun knew exactly what to do and seized the opportunity and made the pass for position. When the checkered flag flew, Jason brought home a respectable ninth place finish in his first night out in 2015 aboard the Priority Aviation Services, LLC Maxim. All of their hard work and long hours of preparation certainly showed as it was a great first night of racing for the entire JJR team and their sponsorship partners.
