HIGHLANDS, TEXAS (April 4, 2014) – With a weekend off from ASCS National competition, the JJR/Stenhouse Jr. Racing team headed back to the Lone Star State for some racing action with the ASCS Gulf South series at Battleground Speedway. There were 27 competitors ready to dual for the win at the racy oval. When the Curb Records/Fuel Safe Racing Cells #41 Maxim rolled onto the track in heat two the driver flipped down his visor on his Shell Shock painted Arai Helmet signifying he was ready for some high speed action. He did not disappoint the fans as he crossed the finish line first after eight laps of racing. For the 25-lap feature event, the beautiful Valvoline/Xtreme Accu-Tach Maxim lined up between the seventh place starter and the wall in the eight starting position. Pole sitter Aaron Reutzel brought the field to the green flag, but he was chasing outside front row starter Sam Hafertepe, Jr. into the first left hand turn. The Ragin’ Cajun was working hard inside his cockpit as he made his may forward through the field. He cracked the top five and quickly set his sights on gaining the next position in the running order. He did just that as he moved into fourth, but ran out of laps to make any further progress as race winner Seth Bergman took the checkered flag, followed by Aaron Reutzel and Sam Hafertepe, Jr. and the Cajun.
